It looks like I'm about to be out of touch for four or five days, I have an out of state job interview this coming Monday. If I get the job, I'm going to be out of touch for even longer as the job starts the Monday after that.

That sounds good and bad. What type of job?

I'm in Tech Support, and it's some kind of tech support/ software sales job in Austin, TX (which is the area that I'm from and where I want to move back to).  The issue is that they probably won't offer any kind of relocation assistance which means I'll be crashing in the back room of my grandma's house without internet and making a forty minute commute to work for awhile.  I am getting way too stressed out about this.

I am against the concept.  The job will not be paying enough for me to want to buy gas and deal with the wear and tear on my care like that.

I drive about 30 each way.  I've gotten used to it, but it helps that I have a talk show I like to listen to  each way.  To make matters worse, we're trying to move further away to be closer to our families, so my commute might be closer to 40 minutes.

Well, if it's mostly highway miles, the wear and tear on your car and the gas won't be so bad as if it were all city driving.

It's actually about half and half.  I'm honestly hoping that instead of getting that job I find some super awesome job in the city that I'd actually have to be living in.  We'll see how that works out.

Are you currently employed?  If nothing else, if you get this job with the long commute, you can always start looking again.  From what I understand, it's usually easier to get hired if you already have a job.

I am unemployed and there are zero good jobs in the area that my University is in.  This is why I need to move.

However, I've just learned that the job I'm interviewing for has three openings and only four applicants!

I wait only on movement, as this is a split, I didn't want to force any choice.

Important update about my life: It looks like I'm going to be moving either next weekend or the weekend after. I'm going to be moving in with family for an unknown amount of time, and I won't have a household internet connection. I don't know how often I'd be able to get online.

My computer is getting packed up tomorrow and I don't know when I'll be able to be a regular part of the board again.  I don't know what you want to do with my character, but I won't be able to play him.
