[spoiler]Masculine men like masculine things. Masculine men are masculine. Therefore, liking masculine men is masculine.

I dare anyone to find a hole in that logic.

Ahem.

Yeah, that was the first place I looked after I realized we weren't talking about the same thing.

Why shouldn't reality take a backseat to the Rule of Cool?

"Cool" is highly subjective.  One man's "cool" is another man's "Profoundly-dorky-looking."

And one man's "Profoundly-dorky-looking" is another's lulz.

See: Multiple daily "Do Powerful Build and Monkey Grip blah blah trail off into thinly-veiled Cloud clone" threads at the old gleemax forums, or my weekly bickering with the youngest member of my group over whether ripping off anime is desirable in itself or merely acceptable if it happens inadvertently.
"We managed to make an NPC puke an undead monster."
"That sounds like a victory to me."

If I believed WotC, a greatclub--essentially a giant stick--is harder to wield than a sling.

Anyone can wield a stick. It takes a damn genius to drive one.

Because the meteor hammer/rope dart is superior, is a similar style of fighting, and is not as screwed up mechanically.  If you are going for a spiked chain that isn't a spiked chain might as well go for the best
