What to do with a epic dungeoncrasher?
« on: August 11, 2010, 04:05:04 PM »
As the title says, I'm looking for what to do now that I've hit 21st level as a warforged fighter 11/warforged juggernaut 5/Warhulk 5.

I plan on finishing up Warhulk but not sure where to go after that. I'm also having some trouble with feats and items. Most of the feats I've been taking have been generic fighter feats like weapon focus and the specialization for use with my spiked chain. For items, the 2 epic items that seem somewhat focused for this type of build are the everwhirling chain and the bracers of relentless might, both found in epic section of the srd.

At this point, there doesn't seem to be too much else to focus on other than some enchants for my chain and focus a bit more on tripping. I'd like to know if there are better items/feats I should be taking.

Sadly, I realize I'm going to fall far behind in usefulness next to casters :/ That's only to be expected. Not sure if it its too important but we are using pathfinder.

Sorry, slightly off-topic, but I'm curious. How did you qualify for Warhulk as a Warforged?
Permanency Enlarge Person or something?

Edit: Also... why Fighter 11?

GM house ruled that with over 20 strength I can qualify for things that need a large size since he's picky about permanent size changes. Fighter 11 was for juggernaut so I can get 16 bab giving me 4 attacks. I didn't really mind as I wanted a fairly simple build.

Wait... wait... you're in an EPIC game, and the DM is picky about permanent size increases?  :lmao So tell me... did he nerf Gate, Epic spellcasting, and all the other insanely overpowered crap that casters can do at that level? Or does he just think that fighters shouldn't have nice things?
[spoiler]
A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.
...thanks

Yeah, as stupid as it sounds, he doesnt want me running around the size of a skyscraper.  Virtual size increases are fine.. which is why I'm wondering about having 2 of those bracers on with theadditional item slot feat. We just got into epic and at the moment don't have a true casters, just a bard haha.

Fighter 11 gives you +11 BAB (obviously), Juggernaut is only a 3/4 BAB class (like Cleric), which means your total BAB is going to be 14, not 16.  Which obviously means 3 attacks, not 4.

Can you rebuild your character at all?  Or are you stuck with those levels.

Fighter 6 / Juggernaut 5 is a good start, that's for sure.  You could go with some Duskblade (if you have the INT for it), or Warblade would be highly recommended obviously.  (But if your DM doesn't like size increases, he probably doesn't like ToB either.)  Wolf Totem Barbarian might be of interest to you as well.  A few levels of that, with the Extra Rage feat, Knock Down feat, Knock Back, and then the usual charging type feats (Shocktrooper, etc.).
Are you worthy of Ascension?

I was pretty sure juggernaut was full bab. I'm afb so can't exactly check.

Juggernaut is definitely NOT full BAB.  Sorry.

But what about the rest of my post / suggestions?

Yeah.. just saw that it wasn't full bab from a website. Looks like I'm 2 short. Should not be a big deal to change things around. As far as the barbarian goes, we already have one who already does that, I know I could join in on the fun but duskblade does look pretty good.

Anyone have feat/item suggestions?

It's generally wise to start taking Warhulk at level 21(when BAB doesn't matter) and frontload things before that. Though if you didn't expect your game to go epic, I'll overlook this. ;)

One Epic build I saw had Warhulk, Greatcleave and everything possible to increase reach. Just add bag of rats.
It always seems like the barrels around here have something in them.

Building off of what Skydragon is recommending, something like:

Dungeoncrashing Fighter 6 / Duskblade 9 / Juggernaut 5 / Warhulk 1

You'll have +18 BAB, plenty of HP, 3rd level spells in order to fuel Arcane Strike, and a few other goodies.

Alternatively, you can go something like:

Dungeoncrashing Fighter 6 / Duskblade 5 / Spellcarved Soldier 5 / Juggernaut 5

You end up with a few less spells from Duskblade, but Spellcarved is a nifty PrC, in my opinion.  Not crazy powerful of course, but can fit your flavor pretty well.  And then just start going War Hulk from there.

Is any Tome of Battle allowed?  Because that would definitely affect things greatly, both feats and items (and base classes probably).

One great item I'd recommend is the Belt of the Behemoth from Secrets of Xen'drik.  Is a Warforged only belt that increases you by 1 size category once a day.  Only costs like 3,000 GP I recall.  So see if your DM will let you pay for extra GP for a version that lets you enlarge like 4 or 5 times a day, or just buy a bunch of duplicates.  (The Bracers you mentioned are awesome, but with their huge price tag, you won't be able to afford them for a looooong time.)

Good suggestions. Tome of battle is not really allowed, just some feats/items from there. The bracers will be made for cheaper than the cost shown. For the progression you posted, I can't just rewrite fighter out of everything. I can only change 2 levels worth of stuff, so if anything, it will either be fighter or duskblade. Spellcarved soldier is something I'll have to look into as well as warforged only artifacts, see if there are any good ones there.
