I'm about to be of little use from finals. They're just a few weeks away, but they determine 100% (or practically 100%) of my class grades. And I have a final paper due in < 2 weeks. I hate this - I mean, everyone has the data that shows that suicides go up dramatically when finals start. Why do we still do them? Because everyone else had to, so lawd forfend future generations might not have to suffer as much as we did. *grumbles*.

Okay. Sorry for the random rant, but I know one person who's quit this stuff already.

I don't have finals in any of my classes, we just have more tests over the course of the year, which  I prefer, since one bad grade won't hurt as much.

I have always thought that makes more sense... I do not believe I would have passed the slightly higher physics during secondary school had everything been decided by one test

I think that makes more sense, too, but what can I do? I mean, even the statistics show it's better - if I remember correctly, suicides go up about 50% during finals at any school. 50%. They could SAVE LIVES by changing the format, but NOOOO . . . gr. I'm ranty today.

Also, did I mention that one of my teachers is likely to get fired AFTER this semester because she is (1) not giving us enough feedback on our work to improve, (2) giving us WAY too much work (for a 2 hour class most employers could care less about), and (3) gave us a final assignment worth 60% of our grade that was considered 2x as difficult as it should be. But they won't change it because it's already been handed out. So now I have to balance working on that with studying for my other classes, where only a few students have the same difficulty I'm facing. *Head esplode with rage* /rant

So thanks for your support, guys. I'll be much better after the middle of December. I promise.

We sometimes get snow here, and have for the last two years, but it stays down for 12-24 hours only. It's a good thing, though, because no one here knows how to drive in it and we'd all have collisions the ENTIRE winter if the snow laster. The snowmen are fun, though. Especially when you behead them with a katana. We don't mess with kids' snowmen though. Just teenagers' and college students'.

Ohio goes one of two ways.  No snow till January, or heavy snow from Thanksgiving on.  Sometimes we get freezing rain for months if it doesnt snow cause it stays unseasonably warm.

When do you Yanks (as in people of the U.S.) celebrate thanksgiving anyway?

This Thursday!!! Hooray for overindulging in food and getting to see family you don't really like (because they keep asking me when I'm going to get married).

On the other hand, I get to bake and eat many pies. PECAN PIE  :love I love pecan pie . . . And I also get to force myself to relax and hang out with some friends.

I'll be settled over the next couple days, so what-ever you want is fine as far as I'm concerned.

It would probably be best, if you want to get into anything involved in the next couple days, to have someone NPC Savorel. Just have her act like a kobold grandma (stereotypically feisty yet nice) disguised as a little kid and it should be fine. I'll know better how busy I'm going to be, but I'm supposed to cook for 1 celebration this weekend, and act as chef's aide for another, so depending on what we're cooking I may/may not have time.

I'm hoping my stress levels will abate once I have this paper done, and maybe once I get rid of this headache (I've had it for the last 3 days because of stress . . . or maybe it was the banging my head against a wall?).
