I checked em and they do have to be worn for 24 hours.

But that is good to hear.  But I do plan on taking Shock Trooper, as that is what makes this golden in terms of accuracy and damage.

But without pounce, you'll be limited to one attack on your charge. Honestly, I'm not sure if Shock Trooper is worth the feat investment without some way to pounce, or get more attacks that benefit from it.

You could pick up Robiliar's Gambit or Karmic Strike and Combat Reflexes. The AoOs gained from those should benefit from your Shock Trooper Power Attack bonus, I think.

Yeah.  Heedless Charge (the part of Shock Trooper that you care about) is on a charge.  IIRC, the other two parts are just for Bull Rushing.

It's hard to seriously boost your Power Attack if you're not charging.  This is a pain, given the crazy stealth errata 3.5 did to charging, too.  Lets just hope your DM isn't fond of chairs (or other furniture/scenery). ;)

Leap Attack is also nice, but like Shock Trooper, you get the most mileage if you can pounce.

If you can't you can still be a decent Bear Warrior.  Just don't worry so much about Leap Attack and Shock Trooper.  It also makes Combat Brute a slightly more attractive option.

I'm going to slide in here and ask again:  How bad of an idea, or how good of an idea, would it be too take 2 levels in Expert?

http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/genericClasses.htm#expert

This one. Obviously used to get some needed feats and to boost my Will and Ref saves.  Skills are nice too. The only thing that makes me hesitant is the loss of BaB which I need for Bear Warrior, and that I will need to take 1 level in something to get the additional BaB.  However, Trap Sense +2 is a whoopdie fucking do ability and third level of Expert gives nothing but +1 to bad saves and some skill points.

Somebody actually uses the generic classes from UA?

My sense is bad.

I am sure that you can find much better things to do w/ a whole level than delaying Bear Warrior a level.  I'm actually sure there's some decent full BAB classes out there that give you a cookie at first level, and probably boost your saves, too, although I also can't see spending a whole level on just that.

I'm mostly looking at the feats to be honest, since I need to get some feats and I was simply curious if it was a good or bad idea to go Expert for the sake of getting two feats as well as some skill points and saves as a consolation for the loss of BaB, but I do hear that losing BaB is a really bad idea.

It cracks me up that your DM would use those and complain about FotF as being to monk-like.  The generic classes aren't meant to be run side-by-side with regular classes (particularly on the same character) at all.

If you he knows you're going bear warrior than maybe you could convince him to let you use one of the Fangshields Ranger sub levels from Champions of Valor:

Fangshields Ranger Substitution Levels (CV, p 41): nonhumanoid, add Diplomacy
2nd level: Combat Style (Multiattack or Improved Natural Attack (single natural weapon), Weapon Focus (any natural weapon), Weapon Focus (any other natural weapon), or Greater Weapon Focus (single natural weapon))

Then you can get Ranger skills and two good saves (and your combat style will eventually be useful). Will saves will always be a problem since the only class that gives good BAB and Will saves is the Knight, and that doesn't really fit your concept well. At least rage gives a +2 bonus which helps a little.
It always seems like the barrels around here have something in them.

Here are the feats I am going for:

Shock Trooper for the awesome Power Attack use.

Two-Weapon Fighting since I basically get Oversized TWF for free.

And a third I was considering Improved Sunder to later get Combat Brute.

Doesn't Duskblade give good Will and BAB?

I really don't see my barbarian becoming an int-based caster.  :lmao

But you see him being an Expert  ???

Ok, seriously, what is it that this character is supposed to be doing again?  Is he a twf charger w/ a weird weapon?  Is he a Bear Warrior who shreds people w/ natural weapons as a fuzzy ball of death?  I have lost the concept in the course of this thread.  And, it sounds like right now that it's all over the place.

The Expert would merely represent him trying to understand things in society that he's been trying to understand recently.  Expert merely means more skilled, while a Duskblade or a Wizard he is literally incapable of being due to his lower Int.

He is both a TWF charger with a weird weapon and a Bear warrior of fuzzy death. : P
