Yes, it's also from OA. Don't quote me on the spelling, though.

Q38
What's the name of the spell that turns you into some tiny flier for rounds/level?

A38 Shapechange?

I've kept thinking there's one that does it at a much lower level. Something like level 2, a polymorph spell that turns you into a sparrow or something and gives you a flight speed. Along with it is a spell that turns you into a fish, but that's not as awesome as turning into a flier.'

Can anyone remember the name?
Well... Alter Self can turn you into something with a flight speed, as long as there is something with the same creature type that's within 1 size category of you.

Yeah, I'll probably have to accept that this spell doesn't exist, I'm just sure I saw it somewhere as a level 1 or 2 spell. And since turning tiny (Or was it diminutive) and getting a flight speed is quite a good source of utility, I thought it would be a good spell to learn, when it doesn't exist, it sadly is rather hard to learn.
Monks are pretty much the best designed class ever.

Were you maybe thinking of sharing Alter Self with a hummingbird familiar and turning both of you into thrushes or vice/versa?

How can you turn yourself into a thrush if it is more than a size category smaller than your normal form? Is that a tiny-sized bird or something? You could turn into something tiny, as long as you started out as small. It couldn't be an animal, though, unless you are an animal to start with (in which case... you should have an Int of 2...).

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.

I don't think you can do it directly, but Share Spells in combination with other effects can get pretty weird (succubus familiar?  :eh).  I was just taking a guess that he was trying to remember a combination rather than a single spell.

Yes, check MiC.  It only makes free actions for Light and smaller ones though.

Q 50

How does one obtain a Blink Dog familiar? It's not on the list for Improved Familiar or Celestial Familiar, which were the obvious places to look, and although I was reasonably sure it could be done I can't figure it out.
So you end up stuck in an endless loop, unable to act, forever.

In retrospect, much like Keanu Reeves.

Check out Improved Familiar from Complete Warrior.  You can get one as a 5th level lawful good caster.

Q-51 Does being an Undead prevent the Nature's Balance spell (Spell Compendium, 145) from bestowing Constitution to the target? (since Undead have Constitution = "-")

Looks like you can.  You'd have a penalty, but it'd be meaningless.

I asked cause I didn't see any rule preventing me from doing so. Maybe it's the same of a racial Constitution penalty that is ignored when the creature becomes undead... However, it's clear that Nature's Balance expects you to give another creature a portion of your own ability. Anyone agree with it being possible?

Q52
See Tome of Battle 79 for the new incorporeal rules.

An incorporeal creature normally takes half damage from non-force effects and is only 50% likely to be affected by a non-damaging effect.

An orb of fire (Spell Compendium 151) does d6 fire damage per CL (max 15d6) and forces a Fort save versus dazing.

Would this spell affect ghosts? Can a ghost be dazed by this spell? Is there a 50% chance the ghost won't be dazed if it fails its Fort save?
Hood - My first answer to all your build questions; past, present, and future.

Speaking of which:
Don't even need TO for this.  Any decent Hood build, especially one with Celerity, one-rounds [Azathoth, the most powerful greater deity from d20 Cthulu].
Does it bug anyone else that we've reached the point where characters who can obliterate a greater deity in one round are considered "decent?"

Orbs of fire are nonmagical once they're generated, right?

I don't think a ghost can be dazed, it is undead and only fort save effects that affect objects work on them.

Also, the orb will have a 50% chance of not having any effect, since it is from a corporeal source (though I believe there is a metamagic feat that stops this).
