Factotum Gestalt
« on: June 18, 2010, 11:20:30 PM »
Having our last campaign completely walled, my group decided to get a new one going, with the partial gestalt system. I've all but fallen in love with Factotums, and I was looking at  Factotum/Adept for my character this time around. I know with Adept I'd get a base Will save of 6, be able to cast spells and get the familiar. Are there any other good combos I'm missing? I think Warrior would get me a BAB of 9, but I'm really not too familiar with the myriad of class combos out there.

A little more on the campaign...
32 point buy
9th level characters, 36k gp
Max HP at first level, then 3/4 HD after that.

There's really not a lot of variety in the NPC classes, though if you're allowed to play with psionics (and your DM is willing to give a REALLY good 3rd party source a try), Dreamscarred Press made a psionic NPC class called the augur, for a bit more variety for you.

It's in Untapped Potential.

I dare anyone to find a hole in that logic.

Our DM's not allowing any third party material, unfortunately.

If eberron material is allowed you could try magewright, it's the Npc version of artificer.

I see that you want to solve problems. Not problems like, "What is beauty?," because that would fall within the purview of your conundrums of 'philosophy'. You want to solve practical problems. F'r instance, how are you gonna stop some big, mean Mother Hubbard from tearing you a structurally superfluous new behind? The answer: Use a gun. And if that don't work? Use more gun.
And if that fails try this

If you can sneak it by your DM(SC class, albeit rated a tier lower than the Adept), a Swashbuckler would get Full BaB and some Int-Synergy.
Barring that, Adept(or Magewright) are probably the most useful NPC-Classes for you.

The Eberron Adept also gains a Cleric Domain.

The Eberron Adept also gains a Cleric Domain.

Adept could be slightly good for the minor spellcasting, although magewright would likely be better due to the int focus.

*snip* Whoops. Didn't catch the partial gestalt bit.
