When you use a tool the way it was designed for -- its intended function -- then it will work very well for you.

But it's not the tool's fault if you use it for something else and you fail utterly, such as trying to eat cereal with a butterknife, pounding nails with a screwdriver, blogging to voice your political opinions, and brushing your teeth with a hammer.

We have yet to witness any of them call upon divine magic, there are a few arcane spellcasters in their ranks however.

"Hmph.  We'll keep an eye out for any heads in need of smashin'," grumbles Buurk.

"Let's get that box and move on to the crater, then, eh?"

With this she reaches under the table and presents you with a small golden box, there is nothing inside but you can tell it has been heavily enchanted.

The crater is perfectly smooth, we believe there will be something of interest at its centre but as non of our teams have returned we have no idea. Is any of you capable of navigating through the thick mist that clouds the area?

"Either Soneleus or Zaneak should take care of the box, I suppose."

He adjusts his hat to peer at Lanian.  "Is it just hard to see in or is it a risk too?  Poisonous mist is not too friendly."

The mist itself seems to cause no ill effects, it is just difficult to navigate the crater. It has no landmarks and the floor is smooth, getting to the center should be easy enough but finding your way back here might be more troubling.

"How high does the mist go?" Says Soneleus, Taking the box.

It fills the entire crater, it doesn't seem to come above ground level here but the crater is several hundred feet deep near the centre.

We have no idea, It has to be more than 500 feet but how deep it is would be hard to determine.

ooc: not unless you are using racial fly speed.

"The mist should be no problem, but a map of what you have explored so far couldn't hurt." Zaneak reassured the group.

Alas we have not had a group successfully return from the deeper parts of the crater. The maps we do have are all of the outer rim which is completely smooth and unremarkable so they do little other than mark the edges.

"Let's have the edges you have mapped and we'll go investigate," he tells Lanian.

"Let's go," he looks to Zaneak and Soneleus.  "We'll figure something out when we get there."

She stands and walks to the door

Obviously we need this done pretty fast but take your time to rest and recover, we have a room made up for each of you in the manor. The camp has several shops and craftsmen if you need anything in particular.

with this she leaves you with the map and the box.

"I could use a few odd or ends." States Zaneak, "We could all use a short rest before we go too. So what do you say, meet back here at the door in four hours?" He reaches out, grabs the box and map, and then secures them in his bag.
