Dick Deckard
Like most people, Dick grew up hard. His father, an out of work alchemist, was bitter about life in general. While he was alive, he'd take it out on Dick and his Mom with his fists and toe of his boot. He did them a favor and blew himself up in an accident when Dick was only 7, though, and Dick's mom had to turn to prostitution to keep food on the table.

Dick himself learned to keep a low profile, and learned the value of information at an early age. He'd spend hours spying on people discreetly, especially "criminals", and sell this information to the local sheriff. This didn't make him very popular in school, but he didn't much care. It kept money in his pocket, and his Mom off the street. And besides, they were the bad guys, right?

As he grew up, his latent psionic talents developed in ways that helped him further improve his spying capacity. He also learned how to stab people where it hurts, and recently bought a pair of weapons that let him channel his psychic energies to do that even better. His favorite "tool" is the crystal he's infused with some of his abilities and personality. It can get into places far easier than he can, and is much harder to spot.

More recently, he's began using his talents to find people. He doesn't much care why the people seeking them want to find them, or why the hiding people are hiding, as long as he gets paid. He reasons that they probably did something to deserve being hunted, otherwise why would someone be paying him to find them?
A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.
...thanks

Corben
Corben was born with a name and rank, but no money.  His family was of the penniless aristocracy, Corben had never asked where their money had gone because he had never cared.  Corben's earliest memory is of taking apart a gun, he has been around them for as long as he can remember.  His latent abilities manifest in his early teens, he knew that he could feel guns in a way that no one around him could.  Noticing his fascination with guns, his parents apprenticed him to a local Dwarven gunsmith who taught Corben everything he could want to know about crafting firearms.  Under normal circumstances they might have bristled at the thought of their son working like a common laborer, but Corben had always been a disappointment anyway.  Luckily, the gunsmith also noticed Corben's talents and introduced him to the ways of the gun mage.  Corben came into his own, loving his master as if he was Corben's father and cutting ties with his own family to the point of stripping himself of his surname.  Eventually Corben left the shop, hoping to seek his fortune and hone his abilities.

Greed
As odd as it may seem, Greed was born Dante Roa to a pair of caring parents within city walls. Born without many bestial traits, aside from sharp canines and the ability to control the carbon on his skin (his father's Beasthide trait), he grew up in a poorer neighborhood inhabited by other species that had come from the forests. As a shifter, and possibly tainted by the magics they had fled from, he and his family were treated in a way similar to dirt; it was there, and that had to be accepted, but you certainly didn't have to do anything special for it. Thus did he grow up, with his parents struggling to raise him well and keep themselves alive; his parents both worked in meat packing, where they were always under suspicion, but were (thankfully) tolerated.

However, public schooling did not work out well for young Dante, who showed average intelligence but an above average keen mind. He eventually dropped out at age 14, believing he wasn't learning anything of value anymore; having started a small street gang of young thuggish petty thieves, he angered his parents, who believed the city had tainted him in a way the magic in the forests had never done. Claiming that it had given him more than the "hick-life tree-hugging bullshit" of the forests ever could, he didn't so much run away from home as saunter out the door. Having been caught stealing from a store by trying to get one more item when he could have walked out with six, and refusing to give his name for fear he'd be returned to his parents in shame, the police questioning him only referred to him as "Greedy," with his friends being "stupid" and "scrawny" until their real names had been revealed. As his records had been kept poorly, as most poor families had been, he was unidentifiable, and so was sent to a juvenile prison under the name "Greed," which he himself had suggested at the offices.

Exiting after a short stint, Greed immediately started a street gang of thugs, whose specialty was all about guarding criminals and their belongings, Greed was repeatedly arrested and nearly arrested for many violent and petty crimes. One other thing he took to was underground boxing, where he met another shifter of the dreamsight variety. Serving the people in the "facility," she was a worker, not hired but bought, whose contract Greed eventually bought and destroyed. Together, Greed started to fall away from the world of crime and violence that he knew so well. He reestablished a connection with his parents, introducing the woman as his fiance, and claiming he was involved with business enterprises. Greed seemed to be going straight, despite his constant physical training and the emergence of a few bodily modification abilities that he could not account for, perhaps from the woodlands taint on his families genes.

This going-straight fact was missed by a number of his underworld rivals and boxing bookies, who thought of this woman as a simple way to get at him for being less beneficial to them. An attack on his home while he was out led to a brutally beaten, and possibly worse, dreamsight woman, who was begging for her life at the moment Greed walked in on his would-be assailants. Most of them died in the first few seconds of his furious counterstrike, Others beating him badly while he killed and maimed them. By the time the last had run or died, Greed was struggling down an alleyway, carrying his unconscious love while he came across a detective, surprised at the bloodsoaked man in front of him.

In an odd blur of time, this detective pulled Greed into hiding, delivering the woman to a hospital, where she has remained comatose but cared for by an anonymous patron. Greed disappeared for a long while, before appearing next to a private investigator, one with odd powers himself. Greed now has a (sort of) steady job, and seems to be as legitimately employed as one can get while still having an unclosed criminal record, seemingly forgotten in his time laying low. In fact, most of the police dislike or outright hate him, but he's been off the scope for so long, none have taken action against him.
