Post a simple concept, get a simple build
« on: May 20, 2010, 01:59:18 PM »
Introducing the newest spinoff of Ask a Simple Question, Get a Simple Answer.

Post a character concept that you had, and the other posters will give you a basic build or two which matches up.
This thread is NOT "I have a build, help me find feats" or anything like that. For that, start a new thread.

To start with...
C1: Build me this person.

Tier 5: An expert cartographer or a decent marksman.
Tier 4: An expert marksman.

Tier 2: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything, or the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.

I'll bite, I've often wondered how you could do this effectively anyway.
C2:  What about him? (not Vega :P)

I don't remember all his powers. Changeling Monk/Warshaper?

Stretch and contortion of limbs, short range teleportation at will, levitation, fire breathing (illusory but still damaging, so probably shadow magic).

Hmm... Changeling Dragonfire Adept/Monk/Warshaper?  :D Flee the Scene + Fell Flight + Breath Weapon (illusionary... but still damages... let's just say it's flavor text, mkay?) Changeling is just there to get him into Warshaper easily. Throw in the Sun School feat to be able to punch people after teleporting.

I've always been curious how the Avatar from the Ultima series would be translated to D&D.

Add in the Abberant Blood and Inhuman Reach from Lords of Madness that gives you an additional 5ft of reach.

Hmmm, Inhuman Reach can turn your arms snakelike or tentacle-like... I wonder if that'd be considered a nonrigid attack form for purposes of qualifying for Extended Reach.  Granted, with warshaper you can just grow tentacles, but you can't flurry/decisive strike with them.

C4:  How would you make Pac-Man?  Or more generally, how would you make a character that solves his problems by eating them, without being torn apart from inside in the process?

No polymorphing if possible.

Sig came from the last session I played.  Diplomacy is a weird, weird skill.

Gape of the Serpent? And some kind of potions that grant ghost touch. Or maybe Deathless Frenzy.

A sorcerer who exclusively uses a custom block creation spell, telekinesis and suspension(Shining South) to solve all of his problems.
