McPoyo...are you really playing a Beguiler WitW?  Because that is sure what it seems like. A Dry Lich Beguiler is certainly...unusual...

Isn't it? I thought it would be rather interesting to play. :)

I'm actually rather enjoying it quite a bit, this far. There's still a surprise in it, too :)

I have half a mind asking you guys go back to town to build the stuff Torgthen needs to attack those drow. That would make it easier to tie in the new guys, enable me to tie up another story that is in the background, and also... well, allow you to prepare better.

What do you guys think?

So the plan for the existing party is to forget about the demons and go after the Drow? I don't mind especially, just want to make sure.

I haven't followed the thread with the Drow very closely so I don't even know what he needs.

According to Raith0's stuff he learned in town, Baldur's Gate has a small army in the area now, and their planning a massive assault on the demons, which the party would learn about when they returned to the city, or Raith0 caught up to the party. My biggest immediate concern is how to get MARC out of that tiny shaft without collapsing the whole tunnel and destroying the water table for the oasis.

That's really up to you. The problem is this: The demons will be attacked, either way, by a force from Baldur's Gate. They are too many and too powerful for the party to attack them, and an infiltration into a demon camp... well... likely as not won't work. The point of the scouting mission was to find out what they wanted, and what caused the strange events in the desert. Torgthen found out that the Drow in the north were doing experiments creating abominations, which sort of creates a logical path to follow - IF you are so inclined.

None of this is pre-written. Only the backdrop is. IF you decide to do something else entirely, that's up to you. In the interest of my available free time I would only ask you to keep the party more or less united, which means you have to reach a consensus of sorts.

Like I said, I'm fine with that plan. Consider Mael to be following the others around. Like a puppy.

Also, just a heads up, I'm getting married on Sunday, so I will have all my electronics off from the 21st until the morning of the 25th. So if we're going to bring the party together, we should do it soon.

Do you need anything more from me? If not, just collect what you will, and then we'll move on.
Just need to confirm the probably empty chest and cabinet.

Well...my thought was to work some sort of collector in Baztgirn, which doesn't seem to out of line for a long lived race, and then have one of the hounds pop out and back in, probably buying something that that has an at will fire spell.

Torgthen will be hard to conivicne on leaving his present course of actions, due in part to trying to keep his word.

Was mainly going to make items with daily charges of certain spells, wall of stone, some form of transportation for a quick escape, a spell to increase a group's speed, and maybe a few silences.

Also, just a heads up, I'm getting married on Sunday, so I will have all my electronics off from the 21st until the morning of the 25th. So if we're going to bring the party together, we should do it soon.
Good luck!   :cheers

Well, there are a crapload of scrolls there for you, and you can even pick a choose what you want. I forgot about the cabinets, will fill that in, immediately.

well ill be heading in the direction of the oasis on horseback so even if you dont make it to town the party should be meeting up shortly or at the worst close to the middle

I can have a caster use them, but most of the things I am thinking about, are going to need more than one charge, and/or most likely a higher than minimum caster level.

Well, then you just have to make those other scrolls/wands/whatever yourself.

I think the underground scene is pretty much done for now. Perhaps a quick IC decision-making process would be nice. It doesn't take much longer than ooc, if you've already agreed ooc. :)

Then when we've gotten everybody together, we can just transition to a new scene without... the transition :).

Okay...IF we are going with the ambush, I better lay it out, see if anyone has any other ideas.

Rough map...

Hmm... the dragon will catch them or just send minions, likely as not, and the women can teleport in front of them - or send some minions. You need a way to negate fast movement abilities, to actually slow the other people down, or to make them much angrier than from a bit of HP damage. Also, the ground to be covered isn't that little, a few miles at least.

How about you discuss this plan IC as well? Because it should be the character's opinions that influence it, too. We can move the scene to wherever you like first.
