Q 188 What classes would be best, other than: ranger 20, rogue 10/assassin 10, and fighter 20, for the title of "best hunter" (the title is loosely given for all types of hunters)? I'm thinking of doing a one-shot with these, and need six. Races would be appreciated as well.
Psion (Seer) 20, Wizard 20... At level 20, you're not tracking orcs in the woods. You're chasing demons across the planes.
Okay, so why is the Psion and Wizard on the hunter's list?  :twitch
Because of the part that I bolded.
I got that part, I'm talking about individuals though. No teaming. These guys will eventually be taking each other on for this title. The locate creature spell explanation made some sense though.
Divination/Contact Other Plane/Scrying/Teleport/etc.
A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.
...thanks

Bump again...

Bump...

Q154 I'm getting slightly confused with this: what's the CL on the Wizard and Nar Demonbinder on an Illumian Wizard7/Nar1/Ultimate Magus2 with +CL Sigil (+2)?

According to my math, I get 11 on the Wizard and 15 on the Demonbinder... but are these the right numbers?

Eh, the wizard have more money than them combined, he could in theory just use all his money on a fleet of trained attack mules, but then we aren't playing 3.5 but zergling rushing in Starcraft instead.

I think I'm going to have to make this an actual entry so everyone knows what I'm going for.

Q: 191

In Arms and Equipment pg. 5 it says
Most weapons keep the same effective reach no matter what their size (Although the reach of their potential wielders certainly changes).  However, weapons that normally have a reach of greater than 5 feet have different reaches when you design them at different sizes.  If you're designing a larger version of such a weapon, increase its reach by 5 feet for each size category it increases.  A huge guisarme has a reach of 15 feet, for example, while a gargantuan guisarme has a reach of 20 feet.
Has this been updated to 3.5?  Can a person who has monkey grip and exotic weapon proficiency (Spiked Chain) use a large spiked chain to threaten out an additional five feet (i.e. all squares within 15 feet)?

A 191:  Nope.  Weapons don't have their own reach anymore.  A reach weapon doubles your natural reach*, that's all, and the size of the weapon doesn't make a difference.  And for the love of all that is holy, don't start a thread about monkey grip and powerful build and making a Cloud ripoff.  Not even in jest.

EDIT: *Of course, this means that if you can boost your natural reach in other ways, you can really make a reach weapon pay off.  A changeling warshaper 3 with the morphic reach feature and the inhuman reach feat has a natural reach of 15', out to 30' if you use a spiked chain.  You might be able to boost that to 20'/40' with the Extended Reach feat, if you can get a ruling that your weird flexible arms are a suitable candidate for extended reach.  And this is while still being Medium.

Q 192 The Wealth by Level table. Is it reasonable? Like should a lvl 20 character really only have 760k in assets?

Q 193 Do all offensive spells bypass DR? If not, what are the exceptions?

A 192: Yes, it should be. If anything, I'd consider it a bottomline. As you have have experienced yourself, being under it is far worse for the players than being over it. (As for the DM, he's there to provide for the players, not for his own glorification, as some of your DMs seem to think).

A 193: No, those that specifically deal bludgeoning, slashing or piercing damage are subject. Crystal Shards (? ) power is the first that springs to mind.

Not quite.  That's a difference between psionic powers and spells (because WotC hates psionics).  However, some spells do specify being subject to DR, so overall the answer is still the same.
I am constantly amazed by how many DM's ban Tomb of Battle.  The book doesn't even exist!

Q 194:  What's the earliest way to cast Bite of the King (Hunger 8) as a divine spell, not including casting it from an item?

I believe Cleric 15. Ur-Priest doesn't get access to Domains, and Divine Crusader gets it at level 15 with a couple of hoops tojump through first.

Ick, no sort of trickery to get it earlier outside of TO stuff, huh?  In that case...

Q 195: What's the earliest way non-templated PHB race character can swallow opponents whole, with polymorph and related effects banned?

An Ur-Priest/Contemplative with the Versatile Spellcaster feat could cast it at 12th level.

Wizard/Sorcerer with Enlarge Person and Hoard Gullet (Dragon Magic)?  On a medium race, that will let you swallow Tiny or smaller foes at level 1 (note: uses both 1st level spells known if a Sorcerer), although it won't harm them.  Once you get access to Plymorph, of course, it doesn't much matter.

@Phaedrus: how does Versatile Spellcaster do anything to help that?

That's cool. I just felt it was a little low, but if that's a decent amount for the absolute base line, then I don't feel bad at all raising the bar some.

Q196: Can a group of Small characters with the Swarmfighting feat ride a single Medium mount? What about a Large one?
My work
The tier system in a nutshell:
Tier 6: A cartographer.
Tier 5: An expert cartographer or a decent marksman.
Tier 4: An expert marksman.
Tier 3: An expert marksman, cartographer and chef who can tie strong knots and is trained in hostage negotiation or a marksman so good he can shoot down every bullet fired by a minigun while armed with a rusted single-shot pistol that veers to the left.
Tier 2: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything, or the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.
Tier 1: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything and the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.
A 192: I assume that by "assets" you mean "combat assets"? That's WBL in the end: the amount of gear that helps you in combat/encounters. Don't count RP rewards such as castles, lands, titles, followers (up to a certain level),...

Okay. That makes some sense too. Because I'm trying to think of what lvl 20 character I've ever played for a full campaign that only had that for wealth by the end, other than maybe one, and that's because it was low-magic, and he was using the NPC WBL table for PCs.
