WotC Board Changes
« on: June 21, 2008, 11:43:48 AM »
Has anyone checked out the changes to the WotC boards?  Not only has Modern not been deleted, but it looks as though we got two new forums!  There's now d20 Modern (and general d20), Urban Arcana, d20 Future, d20 Apocalypse, and d20 Cyberscape.  I for one am very pleased, though I don't know what it means for this little slice of heaven.  Let me know what you think.
Check out my supplements for d20 Modern:

d20 Modern Stat Block Creator (OpenOffice, Excel)
Battles' Book of Advanced Classes
The Blue Book - stats for 2005 model year cars

Current Projects:

Shards of Alexandra Campaign Setting - Introduction
The Blue Book 2008 - In Progress

from what I can tell we didn't gain anything,it looks like several threads from URban arcana are being put into the d20 modern board along with several threads from the different think tanks, the top 10 to twenty threads from each sub forum have been moved and btw we've always had Urbana arcana, future, past,Apocalypse, and Cyberscape. The only book that never got its own foru was Dark Matter.

Yeah, it's just been moved, and may still end up deleted.   :(

I dont know if they are Deleting it and we would have to post into some CatchAll,
of if it is becoming the CatchAll, and everythhing from d20Smurfs to d20Accounting will end up in the one giant d20Moder & General  d20General & Modern d20 General catch all

The forum issues prevented Michelle from finishing the reorg. She did change the name of d20 Modern to d20 Modern and General, but she wasn't able to retire all the other forums. I went through and moved every thread that had a reply in the left month into it's proper place (as near as I could tell), to help her out in case she gets a chance to do it this weekend.

As previously announced, all forums but these will be going away:

RPGs General Discussion
Community Business
As the Die Rolls (off-topic discussions)
d20 Modern and General
RPG Character Optimization
RPG Character Development

The whole change wouldn't bother me so much if the ordeal wasn't a horrible stab in the back.

But at this point I've come to expect that kind of treatment from WotC.
The solution to 99.99% of "problematic player" situations: "You're being an obnoxious prick and it's annoying. Stop being a jerk." Yes, it is that easy.

Contrary to popular belief, Realism is not the antithesis of Roleplaying.

Before I was alerted to the presence of this forum, I was actually considering just moving over to www.myth-weavers.com, since it's where I also store my online character sheet.  This place is picking up nicely, though.

Eh...I go back on my earlier statement.  It looks like they're bringing the rif-raf over to the (d20 Modern) & General forum.  The king is dead; long live the king!
