One more thing: arcane strike isn't a good feat for SAs since they don't have enough spells per day to really abuse it.  I think a reserve feat like minor shapeshift would work well.
Although this character is hungry for swift actions as is, so you will not get as much use as you could out of that feat but it is still very useful for those rounds when you are not using you swift actions, especially if you can fit it in before you get all your levels of abjurant champion.

This was actually my thought. At 20th level, those first level duskblade spells I can burn could be useful. Perhaps if the build was tweaked a bit, I could get even more utility out of it... perhaps.

Power Attack and Arcane Strike and Dispelling Strike go really, really well with the Whirling Blade spell: essentially, make your melee attack a 30' line, 10' wide (if you're enlarged at the time). Whirling Blade is a 2nd level Transmutation spell from Complete Mage (I think?), no Suel should be without it!

Oh jesus...

Spell Compendium (p.238), and it's actually a 60' line. Fun stuff if you work in the whole knockback/shocktrooper thing. Doable with dungeoncrasher as well, but that's a heavy investment for a one trick pony (which a lancer build arguably does better... though I suppose you could feasibly combine the two)

What would you say would be a decent weapon for the build sans the Cyran Avenger + 4 levels of Dragon Deciple? Also, I don't quite know why, but I am just not a fan of Hexblade over Duskblade...

Any weapon is fine for the most part. Either take greatsword for damage, or something with reach.

Save yourself a feat and gain iron will via Magical Location: Otyugh Hole (Complete Scoundrel).

Dragon Disciple is decent, as it gives you more high level spell slots. Maybe also consider Swiftblade?

Hexblade is nice for giving Cha to saves, mettle, and a familiar/dark companion. It also has better synergy, as Duskblade wants Int and you'll mostly be buffing instead of channeling spells.

Yargh, on the second write-up I did for him, Otyugh Hole was put at under misc, at level three or four.
I've put more than a little thought into Swiftblade, to be honest, but I'm growing more accustomed to the RP idea of DD.
As for the Hexblade... Well, I suppose doing a write up for both courses and weighing out the possibilities of each is a good idea, and I'll endevour it. I'm not overly worried about the Stat distribution. Were I doing a write-up for the CO Boards, as per a new build--I may be, but as its an NPC that serves a major role, I can pretty much set the point-buy where I want it. :)
