How could I optimize a warmage without going in a non-exploding direction?

first of all this should probably be in the Min Max forum.

Second could you more clearly state your question. what does non-exploding mean? Do you wish to optimize them without using direct damage spells?

Also you will have to provide a lot more information before anyone could give you a good answer. Books allowed, Stats, level, etc...
Clerics and Druids are like the 4 and 2 in 42. Together they are the answer to the ultimate question in D&D.
Retire the character before the DM smacks you with the Table as the book will feel totally inadequate now.-Hazren

Sorry new, and I saw that this was the 3.5 forum.

It means I want to stick to the blowing things up/ chucking energy damage at the enemy style a little of other stuff is okay though.

Books I have are Complete Arcane, Sandstorm, Core , Draconomicon, and the players guide to ebberon; I also have a freind who lets me use the spell compendium .  4th level, no stats as of yet because the game hasn't started.

So ramping up the the damage, Got It.

Can you access other books for feats & PrCs?

off the top of my head would be use lots of metamagic feats that multiply your damage some how, split ray and twin spell immediately come to mind. I have a build or two with Warmage that is all about dealing damage but needs access to other books that you didn't list.

edit: I knew we had one. Start here.

Grab an Empowered Spell Shard (Magic Item Compenidum) or your favorite 3rd level or lower Warmage spell, and go from there.
It always seems like the barrels around here have something in them.

The sandmage build looks good. Get some other stuff but a lot of exploding as well.
