In the classic era, I think technically Hulk was only an Avenger for the very first issue. Then after that the team was pretty much assembled to take down the Hulk.

Modern day stuff, there's also the "Dark Avengers". Or maybe they're all Skrulls!... *ducks*

Ok, I guess we'll be team Freshly Mixed Cookies?

Already my senses are tingling, and head chef, if we are to work as a team I think I can control the masses.

Also I'll be handling the things this guy announces regularly:

Monks are pretty much the best designed class ever.

I only really know one super hero and as far as i can tell he isn't on the exhaustive list of avengers. Curse me for living in the uk with no comic books.

The chef with a cloud-shaped hat begins assembling ingredients. "A pinch of anger, a swirl of blind fury and unmatched strength..."
It always seems like the barrels around here have something in them.

making superheros doesn't really do it for me. I think I'm going to opt out.

You know guys, just because the theme is The Avengers doesn't necessarily mean you all have to make heroes, although those would be the most obvious and easiest application of ingredient. There are many support characters in the lineup (Jarvis being this universe's equivalent of Alfred), heck the Pet Avengers would be a hilarious take, etc.

So BearsareBrown, what were you perhaps thinking of build? If I had to tip my hat I'd say I'm going for the alcoholic in the metal can...

I'd love to tackle the lookout but I worry about how to create a build that powerful without going pretty hard TO.

How mutable is flavor for this challenge? In creating superheros I imagine it must be very malleable.

Give me a team name guys, otherwise you're going to get stuck with the one I gave you :D

Flavour schmavour, cook whatever you like. I'm not the one judging anyways :)

Yeah, I think you may have to go TO for a guy like him. You may find this to me at least nice to look out in regards to his mental state.

*The chef with the weird accent and funny looking clothes has found some spiders, and he's about to microwave them*

I was thinking the about using the other variant rule. The one which can fuel TO builds. But we all know that Reynolds isn't perfect, so he won't be immune.

Ultimate? I really don't know. The hardest (and funniest to optimize) are Avengers from Amalgam (Marvel/DC crossover). On the other hand, we still have less known Avengers form 616, as Tigra or Gilgamesh. It's hard to make a good choice.

EDIT: Name. I suggest just Third Team. Easy to remember ;)
