I agree with that interpretation but there is an argument for multiple instances same spell canceling which irritates me as the language there does not need to be so convoluted.

I thought the rule is that spells always overlap. So if two spells provide the same type of bonus (bulls strength combined with chasing perfection) they do not stack or if the spells are mutually exclusive (multiple polymorphs). So multiple resist energies would work provided they are for different energy types.
I wish the rules were so clear. Obviously they're not. :P I think given how the magic tattoo reads, that's probably the most reasonable interpretation. Of course... we're now basing core rules interpretations on the text of a single non-core spell...

In this case how would you rule on Heroics.  Could you potentially build feat chains (qualification providing) by casting it multiple times?  Or would they just overlap each other because of the "same effect: extra fighter feat".
