Help for my Skillmonkey! Rogue 3/??????
« on: April 13, 2010, 11:10:25 PM »
All right folks!
I've been lurking around for some time now... and I want some help from you.
This is my character:
http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=196468

In my first version of him he was all about two-weapon fight, but in this version I will be focusing in skills and some versatily, my idea is to get two lvls of Warlock and go to Unseen Seer (DM allows "All Seeing Eyes" and "See the Unseen" to work as two divination spells), the PrC advances my EB, Invocations, Sneak attacks and have a good amount of skill points, but I will get no benefit from Adv. Learning, Silent Spell and Divin SP.

My idea is to fight with eldritch glaive in the future, making sneak attacks as touch attacks... Balleful Utterance and Walk Unseen are gonna be useful, and Beguiling Influence will give me some nice boosts...

What you guys think? Wizard would do better right? But I do like Warlock (24h buffs rlz) :bigeye
Any Idea of how improve? I can use Completes and Core. But you can suggest any other books, and I will talk about with my DM.

Sorry about the english, it's not my primary language!

  • It can only be attributable to human error.

You might want to try a few swordsage levels from tome of battle. It can be very good for a sneaky character.

Have you considered Factotum? Maybe just a dip or three.

If you become human, combine with Able Learner.

Thanks for the quick answers!
1 - I'm set as halfling, we're already playing! Maybe Factotum 3 for Brains over brawn.. but I think it's not what I'm looking for...
2 - My entire group hates ToB. Not me, but they will never stop complaining...

1. Savage Species rituals, rebuilding mechanic,
2. How isn't Factotum what you're looking for?
3. Versatility: Chameleon PrC, switch to a pure caster, Changeling Rogue, the "Racial Emulation" feat, Leadership feat, Nanobots, Exemplar PrC, Able Learner feat,
4. Skills: "Wieldskill" spell,
5. Healing/recovery: http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75882/19871786/A_Players_Guide_to_Healing_%28And,_why_you_will_be_Just_Fine_without_a_Cleric_to_heal%29
6. Retraining, Psychic Reformation, Thought Bottle + XP gravy train,
7. Stealth: (Continuous) Collar of Umbral Metamorphosis (ToM), Ghost template class, dip Warlock/DfA and grab the "Blend into Shadows" (DotU) feat, head into the Hellbreaker PrC (FCII), Whisper Gnome, Jermlaine, Beguiler (ShS, if you can get it past your DM), Hengeyokai (Sparrow form requires supernatural attack), Chameleon template,
8. Maiming Strike feat, Targetteer Specialist Fighter (Dragon Magazine) variant, Hit-and-Run Tactics variant Fighter, Dead Eye feat,
9. Blast: Eldritch Blast,

I recommend for your current character to be a Daring Outlaw (feat), because that's the only build I know with lots of Rogue levels. For a versatile future character, Factotum/Chameleon. Else, take Able Learner at first level then dip Factotum later, as a pure caster. A proper Kobold Sorcerer wouldn't even fall behind in their casting levels.
