Perfect! I can turn some chickens into zombies (bringing them up to one d12 hit dice instead of 1/2 d8) and then Rebuke them to control them.

Just realised that I have enough spare gp on my sheet to get a lesser truedeath weapon crystal (grants attacks the ghost touch quality). I kinda overlooked that hole in my offensive capabilities since the Ghost Hunter feat grants it at lv11.

Would it be okay to add it to my sheet now? If not, can I add it after this battle? EDIT: Since the thing we're fighting isn't incorporeal, I'm going to assume it's okay.

So, I'm entitled to five 1st-level followers (assuming no Reputation modifiers). Any ideas on stuff that might be useful? They must use NPC classes (though that rule doesn't seem to appear in the SRD ???).

Iaijutsu Focus Experts, or Adepts for spellcasting.
Alternatively, take a look at some Savage Species Monster Classes. Air Elemental, for example, gives a fly speed of 100 ft. (perfect) right at first level.

A lot of the rules on followers got lost when they transitioned to 3.5, I think.

My vote is for a hairy spider adept, who becomes her own familiar at level 2.
