Keep in mind that any consumables you end up not using are yours, but if you don't use them up until the next mission, they count against your CP (say you have two potions of CLW left; you'd have 24 spell levels worth of consumables to request, not 26). This is so you guys USE that shit instead of hoarding it and ending up with the Antidote Effect.

It says that the two creatures have the same CR when combined as when they normally fight as a pair, so I should be able to use a cohort as the host without increasing either character's level.

My case: despite the resulting creature being an aberration, only the most "normal" types are permitted (not even giant). Though wyrmling silver dragons have a 100ft fly speed (and 40ft land speed), they lose it while combined. And both creatures have immunity to acid, so I'm not gaining anything there. Sadly, I lose the adhesive ability while using Alternate Form.

I could get them to qualify by applying the half-fey and greenbound templates to both, but this grants redundant (and rather cheesy) abilities and turns them into plants with butterfly wings, which is weird. Also the +3 CR would push the characters out of playable levels.

Sorry Hijax, but that's a no on the warning shuriken... Minimum CL there is 7th, your CP only allows up to 6th.

I will take this moment to correct myself, as the minimum CL for a +1 weapon appears to be 7, not 5 as I originally though. So you probably can't do that either.

Uhh... I have a warning shuriken in my equipment that I bought with my starting wealth. That's ok, right? You're just saying that he/we can't get one as a "consumable", right? Hijax can just hold onto mine until combat starts, as long as I'm possessing him. Its hanging on the string for my component pouch.

It's not really weirder than some of the other stuff you can get with the symbiotic template. Like gnome/shambling mound. The result is always an aberration.

The idea is that a "guest" bonds to a "host" two size categories larger, though I'd just play it as an advanced mimic or an unrelated shapeshifting aberration (there's nothing draconic about the combined form). The example was a bugbear/stirge combo.

I gave up on my last idea.... going with something basic: Dragonborn Water Orc Ubercharger. The question is the classes:

-Fighter 6/Barb 1: the usual, "tame" stuff. Lots of feats + Pounce
-Fighter 2/Warblade 5: not as much feats as the one above, but possess some more versatility thanks to the maneuvers.

Do you guys already have someone to use WRT?

For consumables, as a group we should absolutely get at least one scroll* of Revanence and Revivify. That's like True Res for the price of a 4th and 5th level spell slot, instead of a 9th and a buttload of cash. They won't do my character much good, but they'll probably work for the rest of you.

Here is what I'd like personally: 1xHeal (5), 1xGuidance of the Avatar(2x1.5=3), 1xArcane Eye(4x1.5=6), 2xCircle of Invisibility(6x1.5=9), 1xSilence(2x1.5=3)
Total: 26

And someone does have some kind of unlimited out-of-combat healing ability for us, don't they? I forget who, but I remember it coming up during the "development phase".

you misunderstand. i have one already, i was just saying that is in my belt, too. y'know, so i can draw it quickly when it looks like trouble(actually, i'll probably have it in my hand until combat starts, from the moment we arrive, but having it in the belt is still handy). just so you dont think its in my hole.

You can take up to twice that in consumable "spell levels" in any combination (so one of you could take 12 potions of Bull's Strength and two CLW, for example, or any combination totalling 26). Alternatively, you may request the use of an item or temporary enhancement equal to half that, rounded down (so you could ask for, say, temporary Boots of Jumping, or adding a +1 enhancement to a weapon).

CP is calculated by adding ten to half your level, rounded down. You will be using this every time you're on a Guild mission so keep it in mind. You may also request specific consumables outside that list at 1.5 times its price (so you could ask for, say, Death Ward, but it'd cost you 4 CP rather than 3). Naturally, when determining spell levels, use the lowest.

Ok... am I missing a limitation or something? I don't see where there is a CL limit in your writeup for what we can get with CPs. Is the bolded part missing the words "caster level"? I think it must be.

So we can't get "free" consumables with a caster level above 6, then? If so, I'll have to redo mine... because Arcane Eye is 4th level. Hmm... what can I replace that with?

Yes, I skipped the words there. My apologies.

What I meant to say was:

This is why the Warning Shuriken can't be requested at this point (you COULD request one once you levelled up though). Note that requesting an item in this fashion does not count against your consumables pool.

Most of the consumables have either varied CL or include effects that you normally wouldn't see on an item (such as the Reserves of Strength'd CL 20 Dispel Magic).

What does Revenance do, exactly? As I recall, you can use Revivify up to one round/CL of the target's death, can't you?

No, you have to use Revivify within one round. Revenance brings the subject back to life temporarily for 1 round per CL (or 1 min/lvl... I forget), then they die again. So you can use Revenance to extend the time you have to get Revivify on them.

I think the 1 round/CL might be how long you have to get Revanence on them. I'd have to look at the spell again...

Edit: Yeah, that's right. You have 1 round/CL to bring them back with Revenance, and then it lasts for 1 min/lvl.
