So.... given my ability to change bodies on a whim, should I take Greater Mirror Image, or Charm Monster? I'm pretty much decided on Evard's Black Tentacles for the other spell known spot, unless someone can make a good argument for one of the others instead of it.

Nah. I considered not even getting any defensive spells at all (and indeed, I only have two, and one of those is for TML), or even bothering to heal the bodies I reside in. I'd just be like "Oh, you hurt my body? That's ok, I'll just take yours!"   I really don't want to give up any of my 2nd level spells known, either. (Current sheet can be found here, of course, if anyone wants to look it over)

Someone did convince me to trade up and get the greater version instead of the normal Mirror Image, but now I'm considering dropping that for Charm Monster, and really just saying "screw defense, I can steal bodies". Is that too crazy?

If I get killed in a body, and can't repossess the one I was in just before that one, I could die pretty much permanently... Of course, if I'm careful and always make sure the last body I possessed was a party-mate (or other ally) who has agreed to not resist the save, I should be ok...


Or... did you mean Wings of Flurry, instead of Wings of Cover? If so... I had that down originally, but decided to swap it out since I already have several lower level damaging spells that can ignore (most) resistances. I also plan to carry around about 40,000 pounds of lava, shrunken down into small cloth-like balls... I'm sure that can come in handy for all kinds of things.


I can also be the party "trapfinder". (Possess some small, innocent, furry creature. Walk out in front. Die. Return to last body. Bypass trap. Repeat.)  



Oh yeah, and TML, if you have an extra 1000 gold to buy me a knowstone of Mage Armor, I could swap that spell known out for something else and still buff you with it... I'm not sure what to replace it with, though.

Omen of Peril, Lesser Vigor, Sign. All in the Spell Compendium, I think.

If we're going to be in one party, lesser vigor is a bit less useful.

Well, eventually that may be a moot point, but I've also got a wand of lesser vigor as well. I'll look into the others and weigh my options.

Still, I'm not locked into my options, and I can always switch them out.

Oh yeah, Eyes of the Avoral is crazy good. I'd forgotten that it is 1st level. +8 racial bonus to Spot for the target.

What about the Master of Snake Mountain? I would suggest Elothar Warrior of Bladereach, but you're not a half-elf, and you're not from Bladereach, so...


Joking aside, Legendary Strategist is kind of neat for the rerolls and boost to your Command rating, but honestly... not much would beat just taking levels in Tome Fighter... Bonus combat feats beat almost everything else, with the possible exceptions of spellcasting and the best of the Tome of Battle. When it is allowed, you're kind of crazy not to take at least 3 levels of it, for the floating bonus Combat feat that you can change once per hour...

I think I'm going to not have Horde Gullet as a known spell anymore, also, since we have the Enveloping Pit. I got rid of both it and Rope Trick, since the Pit can basically fulfill both roles. Although... I guess I better be lawful evil or lawful neutral, if we want to be able to open it.

The check to emulate an alignment is kind of rough. DC 30.

I am playing a freakin' kobold, after all. I'll just be either lawful evil or LN. I like both of those alignments, anyway.

I'll hop into tome fighter. I love the flavor too, seems just the kinda guy my character is likely to be(when not raging).
