No, they will burst into flames, or freeze in a block of ice. Probably the Ice.

Sorry about this, but how are we generating stats? Point buy, rolling?

You said 38, actually. But I can downgrade if you want to change your mind. :P

Random thread hijacking by guy who'd love to play but doesn't have the time or attention span. :P
Looking at my copy of Dragon 339, Xvart is actually a +0 LA.

Wait, can we get a ruling on this? It would change my build A LOT if it were true.

An Incarnate Construct Warforged also gets -2 LA, but that can only really be used on templates as it says minimum 0.

A thought: Primordial (SoX) Phrenic Draconic Incarnate Construct Warforged (have it be Large somehow while the ritual is performed). That's +0 LA, -2 Str, +2 Con, +6 Int, +8 Cha.

Except that I'm not going to play that.

Gah, back to the drawing board.

EDIT: Would you let me play a Symbiote (from the eberron books) that hooks onto another PC? Add in enhanced mental skills, and using Tome of War's CR/LA conversion, would something like that be allowed?

Damn... that's a great idea. How about one of these? Throw some psion levels on it, and go to town! :D Or I guess you could still go with the same Conduit build, too. SLAs don't have somatic components normally...

The fiendish familiar (Fiend Folio) would also be great... especially if you've ever seen Vampire Hunter D.  :D

No, I would want to be one of the Eberron Symbiotes. Some ad-hock things that let me still do things while attached to the host, and some Conduit levels, and I would be happy.

SLAs should be usable, as they don't need verbal, somatic, material, focus, or XP components. Phrenic might be a nice idea though...

Spell Wurm gets innate Sorcerer casting, I think. Would stack with Conduit's level 10 ability.

If you pick puppeteer you can go Mounted Combat. ;) In which case, if you paired with my character, he's never getting hit. Ever. :P

That's the one that replaces someone's arm or leg, right? (Or can act as a "third leg"... Nah, you wouldn't get heckled about that too much...  :lmao )

Although wouldn't having no limbs (and maybe a mouth?) make it hard to cast actual spells? Nothing that shapechanging magic couldn't fix of course, but that kind of precludes being attached to someone, doesn't it?

Yah, spellwurm was what I was thinking, and then something to enhance it's intelligence, unless I am able to mess with its ability scores somewhat. SLAs don't need me to do anything but concentrate for the casting time, so their fine.

Also, as written, symbiotes have a low chance of getting damaged. Good, as I probably won't be able to take much damage.

Its description implies that its body is prehensile enough to perform somatic components, but, indeed, by RAW it probably wouldn't be able to use those by itself.

Also, note that its casting ability is supressed while it's attached. The rules don't mention what action it is for the symbiont to attach itself, so maybe you could deattach, cast, then reattach.
