I think the night-caller works better for that overall, though, since you get a couple of controlled permanent mnions and can hand it around.

While we're at it, Alter Self/Polymorph into a Void subtype creature is like a poor man's souped up Superior Invisibility.
And since its a subtype you can give it to yourself permanently with that ritual from Savage Species.

Nah, that ritual says it doesn't actually give you any of the abilities, it only lets you use magic items specific to the type.  Otherwise... damn!

I'm sorry, but you handed me the ritual on this note card here to keep the other players from reading it, and, well, you now have +8 str, +8 con, -6 to your mental stats, and rage as a first level barbarian thanks to your [roid] subtype.
That should be -- Con and +2 to your mental stats; it's actually the [droid] subtype.

Hey guys.  Compare draining touch from the SRD with the savage progression.

That's right.  Ghosts just got better.

This?
Against an ethereal opponent, she adds her Strength modifier to her attack and damage rolls when using this attack.
Could not find any other difference. Probably a remnant of 3.0 thinking (see here)

Adding your Strength modifier to ability drain is pretty potent, even if it's only against ethereal opponents.

Note that the reason it's only against ethereal opponents is because the default assumption for a ghost is being ethereal solid and material incorporeal.

Planeshift from ethereal to material, and start hitting people with the ugly stick.

"Against an ethereal opponent, she adds her Strength modifier to her attack and damage rolls when using this attack"

Depending on how silly we are about RAW, it looks like this only works if the opponent is on the ethereal plane...

True, but the phrasing of the Ethereal(ex) makes it pretty clear that if you planeshift to the material plane you treat it as the ethereal plane for your abilities.

Aren't ghosts usually stuck on the Ethereal, and can't really leave, like the dead (petitioners) can't leave the underworld? I'm pretty sure there's rules for that.
Read, every day, something no one else is reading. Think, every day, something no one else is thinking. Do, every day, something no one else would be silly enough to do. It is bad for the mind to be always part of unanimity.

Ghosts gain the incorporeal subtype only when manifesting. This should mean that on the ethereal plane (or even gated to the material or any other plane), ghost has physical body and its draining touch is not incorporeal touch, but more like a corporeal slam. Right?

Either way, one might imagine a Ghost Factotum could add Int to the ability damage...

Lingering Breath: If you decide to use it, your breath weapon 'lasts' another turn, so on your turn it does half its normal damage in the same area. SEEMS decent for a dragonfire adept. I wonder if Entangling Breath is pumped by it. It says "Each use of your breath weapon lingers until the creature's next turn, and those entering or staying within the area of effect on the second round may take damage (see below). Those using Lingering Breath must decide before breathing that they are using the feat, otherwise the breath weapon acts as normal. Damage done in the second round is reduced by half." I think that supports additional effects of the breath weapon going off again. Hello Gestalt Two-Headed Half-Dragon||DFA!

Note: It is 3.0, but I really doubt there's any errata for it, and it works fine in 3.5

Wait a second.

Maximize this. Assuming that a d% can be maximized, anyone failing their save gets shot 100 miles straight up.

Assuming that I've done my math right (feel free to correct me), that's 52,800d6 (avg. 184,800) damage, and the target will take about 1700 turns (roughly 2.5 hours) to hit the ground. This is assuming that he doesn't burn up on re-entry, of course.

They'd still have to worry about asphyxiation and all the other fun stuff, I think. It's a cheap version of Nailed to the Sky.
