if i recall correctly, double and triple weapons are explicitly allowed to have two and three (respectively) weapon crystals, each crystal only affects the end it is attached to, unless its abilities apply to the wielder as a whole. for example, a crystal of adamantine hardness, would only affect the end to which it is attached, not the other end or ends. shields that are able to be used as weapons are where it gets questionable, though i imagine that one could simply apply a similar principle of 'only affects the part, unless it affects the wielder as a whole'.
