Yeah, I'm enjoying it. I'd enjoy it more if we could avoid being ambushed in the future (at least sometimes). :P
Someone should get Telepathy and Mindsight somehow. :P

See, those are the kind of things my real-life group probably wouldn't think about :D

I kinda like the one I just uploaded, kinda battlehardened and no-nonsense.
Any thoughts? :)

Also, I hope you guys are liking this game so far, it's my first ever PbP-game and I don't really know you guys so it's hard to include stuff that I know you'll like :)

It's good. I just wish I could boost the amount of my bonus damage I can apply to my attacks. As-is half of it is rather situational, but welcome nonetheless. :P

I wish I could extend the range of my super-hearing and take a feat to allow me to pinpoint enemies as a free action. It seems almost appropriate, but I doubt there's anything like that. Improved scent extends the range of scent out to 60 feet, and I can see that being reflavored for my ability, but 1) I'm tight enough on feats as-is, and 2) that doesn't also allow me to pinpoint as a free action, so I'm still wasting actions.

Do we have some way to find and enslave a Psurlon with Mindsight? Those have Telepathy out to 250', IIRC. That's what we use for intelligence in The Fall of Pun-Pun, and I think int may be even more valuable in a game about armies. :D

Oh god... don't even talk about it...

A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.

Well... it is quite annoying as a DM. I can deal with it, but it certainly gets rid of certain kinds of encounters, or shoehorns you into using specific kinds of things that are immune to it for them. I think the blanket of area effect crowd control that his other minions throw down is probably more annoying, though. :P Those freakin' Tome undead feats are ridiculous. They're like leadership on crack. My real mistake was letting him cherry-pick his starting minions, though. If I hadn't done that, and had instead limited it to things they actually killed in the game, it wouldn't be nearly as bad. That was a big mistake on my part...

Kinda removes the mystery when nothing can move within 250 feet of your group without being detected. I'm not sure anything has a move speed equal to that (without specifically trying to get that fast), naturally, so you can pretty much pick up anything before it gets to you, with the exception of teleporting-opponents.

There are a few things that can move more than that and still do something without spells/SLAs/etc, but not many... The house rules we agreed on do help somewhat also (Mindblank and other immunities to [Mind-Affecting] blocking it, and allowing Slippery Mind to let you make a hide check against it). So it's tolerable. I can certainly understand the appeal as a PC, but it is still a headache as a DM. :P

Yeah, it would be something to keep in mind. Then again, if you guys pick it up, it'll be with a PC, so I can always swap in some Archers to stay out of the initial 100ft AWACS radius :P

Yeah, but they have it at a 250' radius in my Pun-Pun game. Most encounters don't start further apart than that, due to the insane distance penalties on Spot checks.

True, but no way in hell you'll get an AWACS-minion in this game ;) :lol

Hmm, seems much of our group has been quiet the past couple days. A lot of the dialogue is just between Bowen and Phaedrus. :P

Yeah... I have a hard time just sitting there if no one else is saying anything... Sorry if I'm hogging the spotlight.

I should get more involved, sorry guys. :( I'll try to be more active. Just assume I've been in Hawk form up until now.  ;)

So...
Do you guys want to take the conversation into any general direction, are there other things you want to say and/or ask?
If not, I'll just continue with the default route I had planned (all aboard the DM-train, *choo-choo*) ;)

Well... we should at least decide how we're going to approach this. If we're going to set out and night and be sneaky, try to bait them into an ambush, try scouting, etc.

I like the ambush idea, personally. My character can't be sneaky while moving around very well, unless he's tunneling under the party, but he could probably stay hidden fairly well if he was buried up to his neck under a bush (total concealment) and not moving.

I guess he could just tunnel along while we're scouting, though. And Goldflower does have that at-will invisibility... I guess Kalal could wear light armor and try to move silently while under the effects of that...

Also, we don't have to RP it out, but I'd like to see if that guy that escaped remembers anything else, and at least have Goldflower tell us WTF a manticore is, because in-character the rest of us probably don't know. ;)

But anyway, I want to have a plan, not just go blundering into the next ambush.
