Q243: I am a prepared caster (Wizard) that wants to enter Spelldancer at level 4.  Spelldancer requires third level spells.  What is the least controversial way to get a second level spell to count as a third level spell with a prepared caster?  Note that I only have two feats which which to qualify, one of which comes from being human, so any illumian fanciness must qualify with only one feat.  Thanks!

A243: Illumian wouldn't cut it due to obvious prereqs missing. The simplest solution I could see would be taking Eldritch Corruption, though that requires your character to acquire a certain amount of taint (explanations are in Heroes of Horror). Alternatively, take the Divination specialist ACF that allows you to cast Divinations spontaneously, grab Versatile Spellcaster and Heighten Spell and you should be good to go.

Q239:

In binding a being that grants wishes, what wording will be very hard for a DM to twist in order to get inherent bonuses to stats?

(I'm not being greedy, just want to boost my stats slightly)

Eldritch Corruption, though that requires your character to acquire a certain amount of taint (explanations are in Heroes of Horror)
Are you sure that bumps the spell level? It says, "without increasing spell level" so with heighten it would just raise DCs not the level.

I had been looking at it for my prereq handbook

Dude?  Don't even go there.  Binding wish-granters is bad mojo, no matter how greedy you think you're not being.
Meh. It's pretty retarded that it is actually dead easy to do, and yet some kind of "in-game" taboo exists against it. I prefer institutionalizing it via the "Wish economy", rather than pretending that it doesn't exist. The same goes for all the easy "free money" methods that exist in D&D.

If you do start doing this kind of thing and your DM doesn't have house rules (or Inevitables, or Angry Efreet LordsTM, or whatever)set up to deal with it, it can easily ruin the game. Of course if you limit yourself to wishing for stat boosts that's not going to break anything, but the only limitation on that is your own self-control. :P

And... I'm sure this is going to lead to some big, off-topic, derailing argument... If you feel so compelled, I'd suggest you take it here: http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=3892.0

I have asked and he DM is ok with it. I am limiting myself to Stat boosts and only for two stats. Thus not really breaking anything as they are boosts I would get anyway by reading books - only earlier than I would be able to afford books.

If he had an issue with it I wouldn't do it

If he is okay with it why do you need to worry about wording he can't twist? The wish spell explicitly states that it does that in it's description. Maybe I am misunderstanding you

Crap, you guys go off and respond like 8 times while I am typing a response, make me feel like I need more caffeine, through an IV

Q 244 : Is there a way to cheese entry into classes requiring a certain level of powers from an Erudite base, similar to how I cheese entry into 3rd level spells from an arcane caster base?

Does having an extra high ML -> Expanded Knowledge work? Or would that only work for an Ardent?

Actually...I may have answered my own question.  Precocious Apprentice + Sanctum Power (don't forget we're operating under complete transparency) = a 3rd level power.  I can manifest as many as I have the PP for.  Gold!

Q245: Spell has duration 1 round/level. A successful Fortitude save reduces the duration to 1 round. What happens when you extend it? Is also the 1 round duration doubled?

Q246
How come Rainbow Servant is listed as -1 tiers in the PrC tier list for non-warmages, doesn't granting full caster levels with various small bonuses and a pretty sweet capstone ability make it at least +0?

Capstone ability only adds to your spell list - you still have to learn them normally.  And ten levels could get you something much much better.

Yes, of course. It's a duration, so it's doubled.

Eldritch Corruption, though that requires your character to acquire a certain amount of taint (explanations are in Heroes of Horror)

Isn't it obvious that they were referring to "increasing the spell slot required" when they said "level"? Yeah, I know, you're a silly literalist and all that... but the effect of Heighten is that it increases the effective spell level, not that it increases DC.

Q197
If I use Spellstoring Item on a wand, and use Power Surge on the same wand, can I use the temporary charges to cast the spell I stored in the wand more than once, or do the temporary charges only apply to the spell that was put in the wand at its' creation? What happens if I use Concurrent Infusions to infuse both at the same time?

Q. 247 - Can i use Nature Warrior Prestige Class to progress Master of Many Forms Wild Shape Ability?

wilding(Su): nature's warrior levels stack with druid levels (as well as levels in other prestige classes that allow these abilities to stack) to determine wild shape abilities and wild empathy checks." ... "for purposes of wild shape size, type, and frequency"

It wouldn't be much of advantage, since you would still need 7th level at the prc for the Extraordinary, but you could get some extras and nifty abilities... something like...

Druid 10 / Master of Many Forms 7 / Nature Warrior 3

6th level spells, Wildshape up to Dragons and Gargantuan creatures... I'm sure this could be optimized...

Q 248 Isn't there and item that boots a characters encumbrance capacity?  That is besides strength boosting items.  I could have swore I came across one this past several months.

There's also the Easy Travel Armor Property (MIC), which allows you to carry medium load as if it were light, with no penalty.
