Wildshape fun and multiclassing
« on: December 29, 2009, 05:49:31 PM »
Just idle thoughts I had but do any of these sound playable and fun?

Half Orc Druidic avenger 5/ Master of Many Forms 7/ Frenzied Berzerker ?/ ? (D10 hit dice first 5 levels. War-Troll + lots of strength, con and regeneration)
Ranger (wildshape variant) 5/ Master of Many Forms 7/ Chamelon 8 (5th level spells dual casting and Wartroll and arrow demon fun)

You don't need chamleon for 5th level spells, just take mystic ranger.

most outsiders typically do not qualify for chameleon due to the racial requirement.

Wizard spells can come from SoTAA.

I could see a Mystic Wildshape Ranger 10/Master of Many Forms 10 being viable.  Take Sword of the Arcane Order and you'll have 5th level arcane, 5th level divine, and ridiculous wildshaping. You'd have a tool for most situations.

A variant in Races of Destiny on page 150 lets Half-Orcs, Half-Anything, and planetouched count as Humans in addition to their other parent races. Talk to DM and such...

A good wildshape build you could try if you are willing to drop the spell casting and use some odd sources.
Hengeyokey (OA) Warblade 4/Warshaper 3/ Shapeshifter (OA) 1/ MoMF 7/ Warshaper 2/ Warblade 3
You will need the dragon magazine update of oriental adventures for this to work however. But you end up with good maneuvers, wildshaping at a level equal to your character level and all the warshaper goodies.

do warblades and warshapers both have concentration as class skills?

i'm fond of using the shapeshifter class to qualify for wildshape requiring prestiges without being a druid, but the 10 ranks in concentration can be a bit of a challenge depending on the build.

I'm pretty sure Warblades do, as it's the discipline skill of Diamond Mind.

Warshaper also has concentration as a class skill, which is why that build works. It blooms a little later than other wildshape builds but it gets warshaper goodies earlier which can mean a lot. Also you debatable get all the warshaper benefits in your human form as the Hengeyokey are fluffed as shape shifting animals.
