Personal favorite is Touch of Idiocy 1d6 penalty to INT WIS and CHA with a level 2 spell, cant go below one but you can probably find something that can remove those last points...

Well i can't think of anything to help remove the last points but, with the 'Reserves of Strength' feat, you are instantly any caster's worst nightmare as you turn that 1d6 into Xd6.

While I'm all for finding new and creative ways of completely fucking folks with spells, I don't think that works as you wish it to work.  Reserves of Strength removes a level imposed cap, while touch of idiocy does a set amount of damage/penalty.  If it were even d6/3 CL, it would work, but it's a set 1d6 each.  That would be wicked, though.

EDIT : Damned ninjas and their defiance of mathematical law :P

Strength Of the True Form (Sorc only, 1) Dragons of Eberron
Immediate action, duration 1 round, V only and Silent Spell is free to add (if you have the feat)
If you change form due to polymorph, alternate form or similar affect, you have cherry pick the best Natural Armor, DR reduction and physical ability scores from the base form and the polymoph form.

I don't even need to list the ways that this is sweet.

Oh no!  That is a great spell, but the feats in that side bar are even interesting.  The Alternative Form ability for True Dragons is actually quite scary when applied to a Dragonwrought Kobold (not here to argue if they are True dragons).   You can pick any small or medium animal, or any medium humanoid form that you can turn into 3 times a day.  Alternative form in the Monster manual stats you get the full stats of the new form, and you can pick any animal you want.

Legendary Eagle, Ape, and wolf come to mind.  I am sure you can find alot more.

I agree suffer the flesh is a great spell.  You can use the Rod of Bodily Restoration in the Magic Item compendium to heal all the Con damage for 3,100gp.

Not sure if it was mentioned, but Infernal Transformation (Spell Compendium) gives you the Baatezu sub-type which grants telepathy and a number of neat abilities.  It is personal for divine metamagic abuse.

The best combo for a humanoid I found for True Dragon Alternative Form + Half-Dragon form feat is a Flind (gnoll, humanoid, MM3). 24 Str, 12 Dex, 16 Con, I believe it comes out to.

Strength of True Form I find to be a bit lacking in most practical applications. Base Str, Dex, Con, NA or DR seems like the true form is going to be inferior to whatever you're polymorphing into. After all, we're polymorphing to pick up superior stats in the first place, and as a caster who's going to persist this, mental scores are going to be a focus. I suppose there are some corner cases where you might stack extremities in each form.

Wind Walk from the PHB.  A 6th level Cleric spell, but incredibly useful for moving the entire party over long distances all day long.  In close quarters, it can still be useful as you benefit from Gaseous Form as well (doors?  What doors?)  Superior to Teleport or Greater Teleport when you don't know exactly where you're going and you move faster than all but the fastest (or running) dragons.  Plus, one casting lasts virtually all adventuring day.
I am constantly amazed by how many DM's ban Tomb of Battle.  The book doesn't even exist!

A really good spell for utility purposes is suspension from shining south. For 1d4+cl days you cal levitate 1000lbs/cl of nonliving matter. This is amazing useful for carrying goods and building cheap flying machines. In my current game I have an airship which runs on this spell and a decanter of endless waters.

Nar Demonbind

Lost Empires of Faerun, pg 32.

Level:  Cleric 7, sorcerer/wizard 7
Casting Time:  1 hour
Range:  Touch
Target:  Humanoid with Intelligence 4 or higher
Duration:  Instantaneous
Save:  Will Negates
SR:  Yes
Material component:  Gems with a total value equal to the XP cost
XP Cost:  500 XP/level of the subject

Benefit:  Touched subject gains the half-fiend template.
Permanently.
Treat it as an acquired template, rather than inherited.
You become an outsider, your alignment changes to evil.
You also gain the +4 level offset.

The catch:  You cannot cast this spell on yourself.

...However, I see nothing that prohibits you from ordering your cohort to cast it on you.
Or ordering your cohort to let you cast it on them.

Further FYI:  The cost of handing a scroll of this you scribed to a hired caster when you are level 20?  60,910 gp

Not bad for buying a template, IMO.

Won't that give you +4 LA regardless?

Yup.

Have it cast at level 10, ECL 14.

At level 17, you become ECL 21.

The problem is that when you get 9th level spells, every other caster in the game gets Epic spells.

See the problem?

Only an issue if you're leveling up quickly.  If you're playing with a DM that levels you really slowly (or not at all) then it's a great spell, and so is Mineralize Warrior for similar reasons.

I fail to see how delaying Epic spells is ever OK, no matter what your leveling speed.

Mineral Warrior's LA can be bought off before it ever becomes a problem. And it gives a tun of shit for a measly +1 LA.

Getting bit by Were-Creatures or Vampires is also nice in games where you don't level up.

@Fluffles, the strength comes in a game were you aren't going to level up. Or never expect to gain more then a level or so.

I've played games where we leveled once, and games where we never leveled.  Also, consider one shots.  If you're not leveling up anyway, delaying epic spells from infinitely far away to slightly more infinitely far away is just fine.

Target:  Humanoid.

Although it wouldn't surprise me to find a way to have a humanoid familiar...

...it'd be weird, though.

Well, I think that it was said you can't cast the spell on yourself. And if you can't cast it on yourself, you can't share it.

Something insane I noticed while looking over the Mineralize Warrior spell. It's permanent, not instantaneous. Which means that the mineral warrior template can be dispelled. WTF! I'm sure that's another example of a stupid author not knowing the difference between permanent and instantaneous, but still... RAW all those mineral warriors walking around better buy some Rings of Counter Spells!
