A38 : Well, detect magic and ghost sound port right over without changes.  Perhaps go with silent image, dancing lights, or light as the third?  Possibly even faerie fire if the DM doesn't think it would unbalance the race at LA 0.

A39 : Get Shadow Pounce and several ways of shadow teleportation.  I think the Nightcrawler build gets three full attacks?  Glaivelock attacks at that IIRC.

A 41: Didn't wanna say anything, but meh, no one lost place and we're back on track.  The answer is : 1st!  Sanctum Spell + Precocious Apprentice.  If spontaneous, 18 in casting stat + Versatile Spellcaster.

Both are in Complete Arcane.  PrecAp is funky...it's near the back I believe.

Sanctum spell wouldn't work the spell still takes up 3rd level spell slot which you wouldn't have access to.

If you are considered inside your sanctum, it's a 3rd level spell.  From a second level slot

Oh, he's going for Swiftblade?  Can he get access to the Trapsmith at all?  That'll give him haste at TS level 1.
