Is that how we're treating it? I didn't know, so I just decided to do something. I figured that 1) If it moved me into range, it was using the cloaker's move action, not mine, freeing me for a full attack action, and 2) I've seen mounts used as excuses to free up characters' actions in the past. The problem with the mounted combat rules is they assume you're riding a horse, and that your "mount" isn't especially intelligent. Here's what it says:
Basically, they're saying that since the mount effectively acts on your initiative, your move actions overlap, even if the mount is technically using its move action to move.
If you want, just use the first attack roll, once my turn comes up such that I can reach the vrock (even with the spells buffing flight speed, it's relatively slow). Then I'll just roll again the next round assuming we don't just kill this thing this round.
Then again, I'm not sure the cloaker
can grab me, as I'm large, unless it was enlarged itself.
