Ah crap. I forgot Marlowe always has See Invisible active. He does see the vrock. True Seeing has a 120 ft range, but See Invis is only limited by your natural range of sight.

Knew there was a good reason to have that item. :D

Marlowe probably is on the ground, since RJ was at the edge of the field 60 feet back. It would have taken a double move to get out of the field before the Fly spell reactivated, so I would have used up all my actions that way.

Hmm. I don't think Kuroi's rolled for initiative yet...although I honestly have no idea who's next in line anymore.

That is correct, I haven't.
Gendou Ikari is basically Gregory House in Kaminashades. This is FACT.

So has everyone went? Raoul climbed up and readied an action, Cade climbed out and changed form, and X and his minions also climbed up, but didn't see anything (and still have lots of actions they could potentially use). RJ teleported up to the vrock, and got glitterdusted after it teleported away.

Marlowe moved out of the DMZ. Since he can see it (See Invisible), and rolled well on his knowledge check, Marlowe basically knows everything about vrocks in general (their generic stat block, plus knowledge of Fiend feats means they can all vary a bit). This one obviously favors using its telekinesis and flight rather than mixing it up in melee, though, and it has some magic items.

That sound right? Anything else to do before we start the new round? And how are you guys going to deal with communicating, since Mind Blank is screwing up your telepathic network? A Message spell could work, if you want to retroactively say you have one...

Sorry I haven't posted much lately. I've been insanely busy with work.

By the way, those of us who climbed out of the pit are outside the DMZ, right? Does the DMZ block our True Seeing? Or is the thing just further than 120 feet?

You don't know. ;)

It's further than 120 feet away. It's nearly 120 feet straight above RJs head, and she's 50 feet above the ground herself.

At this point, unless you guys solve the communication problem, you seriously don't know, though. :P

You're sure that teamwork benefit wouldn't solve the problem?

There is a teamwork benefit in PHB2 or DMG2 which lets you automatically succeed on Spot checks to find party members or something.

They all have True Seeing. So they can see each other, as long as they're within 120 feet. That isn't going to help with the whole Mindblank vs. Telepathy thing, though. Superior Invisibility also makes them impossible to hear, so they can't even technically talk to each other.  :lol I'm loving this spell. I should just enforce all the problems it is causing you guys, instead of giving you easy ways out of them.  :smirk

Retroactively throw on a Message spell? (Note: Guys, we need to go over our buff list with a fine-toothed comb next time. :P)

Well fuck, I accidentally closed the tab with my long-assed reply typed up in it.  :banghead

Summary: Don't waste too much time going over buffs. They're out of hand, and once you guys get back into the past, I plan to limit them somehow. Right now I'm thinking past-Sammy will only be able to throw out one Wish every 15 minutes, or he'll only give out one per summons, and refuses to answer summons at a frequency of more than every 15 minutes, or something like that. For now, you guys can use your uber-buffage to get through the demons and other things, but this will be the last uber-buff-stacking bonanza. Sound OK?

Otherwise, I don't know if I can handle things without it getting boring.

Agreed. It was more to prevent incompatibility like this from arising again than to turn us into unstoppable juggernauts (although I think we'd have realized pretty early on that we couldn't communicate). As much as Marlowe would enjoy it, this shouldn't turn into a paperwork-fest.

Sorry about the long buff list with gaping holes. I was fiddling with the IMarvinTPA spell database and kind of went overboard.

I also wanted to confirm that Shlurshech and Siphsis didn't pick up anything. The Psurlon was using 250' mindsight, and the Yuan-ti was using the Tome Zen Archery 'if you hear it you can pinpoint it thing. Both were just poking their heads out to scan before ducking back into the pit.

That's right. Neither of them could detect the Vrock. The Yuan-ti could probably have detected Marlowe and Ris-Janna, but I'd have to look back at their Move Silently checks.

So, slightly off-topic here, but anyone have any advice on what I should do with Marlowe the next time we level? I was thinking Swordsage for two levels, two levels of Unseen Seer, then I don't have a clue. The US levels are to pick up Hunter's Eye, get a little more sneak attack on top of Assassin's Stance, and Silent Spell...I guess I can DCFS that away? :P

If I can get Hunter's Eye by other means (Extra Spell, or possibly a Drake Helm), I get two extra levels to play with. Straight Swordsage isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I'm looking for other options.
