Armpit subdermal pouch. Well, assuming you don't mind a lump under one arm. I suppose your scrotum could also work - I mean, who the hell would search you there? :p

So implant is a go?
Okidoki, now to decide where to put it (NO, not in my scrotum, thank you very much :P)
Probably somewhere in the chest or stomach area...

They also give you -2 to all ability scores, but heck, who cares?

Yeah, do a reasonable implant, pay a few gp for it. Unless there are rules for implants, I say it costs you 10gp.

Just reread the rules, and an Item Familiar has to be a magic item already, that's worth at least 2000 gp.

I think I'll make my Ring of Enduring Arcana my Item Familiar then, don't have the cash to buy such an item at the moment just for an Item Familiar...

I'll let you know when I decide for sure, in the meantime I'll check if I can find anything about implants.

My turn for vacation :P
I'm going away for two weeks. I'll have plenty of time to work on my character's background.
I don't think i'll have internet access. Just PM or mail me if i am needed.

Have fun, Dictum :)

And Tshern, would you allow magic items to be crafted especially for a character with a certain skill, class and/or alignment thereby reducing the cost of the item as described on page 282 of the DMG?

If not for all items, how about just one?  :blush
(Yes, I'm desperately trying to fit a decent Item Familiar that can be implanted into my budget, so what? :P)

I'll allow that for items that are crafted during the game or by your party members. That would be all.

Also, I forgot to say this: Enjoy your vaction Dictum! Get some rest and make sure to recharge your batteries to the fullest!

Awesome :D

So, can I 'implant' my Ring of Enduring Arcana with it still occupying the ring slot and not looking freaky?
I'm thinking about something like grafting it to one of the bones in my finger and wear it sub-dermally so it's under my skin.
Are you okay with that?

Ouch?

Edit: I thought you talked about implanting your item familiar. That I am fine with, but keep the normal magic items their normal places. Please.

I was talking about my Item Familiar, but you can only turn an existing magic item worth at least 2000 gp in an Item Familiar, so I figured I'd just use the least conspicuous one, my Ring of Enduring Arcana.

As for implantation in/grafting to the finger, it would still occopy the same body slot and all that.

If you're not okay with it, that's cool, and I'll just wear it normally :)

I see, I suppose you can do that then. We need to come up with some spot checks and such for it then.

Even if it's integrated in the finger?
A simple Detect Magic should be enough, right?

Unless you really craft it to the bone you can spot the elevation in the finger. With a succesful spot check of course.

Well, I was talking about really grafting it to the bone, make it invisible to the naked eye so to speak. Actually more from a cosmetic point of view than an optimized one, to be honest, I just don't like walking around with a lump in my finger :)

EDIT: ofcourse you have the final say as the DM :)

Vacation was nice, honest procrastination, booze, fresh air, proof that I'm able to feed healthily on my own, a couple of sexual frustrations, all you need for a good holiday !

Just don't be too upset when they chop off your finger, Bowen ;)

Tshern, any clue whether we'll be jumping into battle or doing recon or something? I like to prepare my spells for the coming day, so I don't know if we have a mission set out that I'd be prepared for or what...
