"I suggest Syris and Dareidor will be our scouts then."

Gabriel finishes casting his spell, and a huge feast appears on the table. He says Please, enjoy the meal while we further discuss our plans.

I can offer a few spells to boost us. I've already agreed to enhance Dareidor's weapons and a couple of other things, and I will cast a few spells, which like this feast which will benefit us all. I can also absorb half of one person's injuries. Who would be the best candidate for that?
A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.

Talsor sits down and begins to eat from the feast. At Morthos' comment, he pauses and scrapes a long nail along the bone armor across his chest. I can take a few good hits, but of course would not be against any additional protection. However, perhaps the servant of Mephistopheles would prefer it more.

Whomever I cast it on will have to remain relatively close by, so either Talsor or Jarkar would be good candidates, assuming they'll be in melee. I am not familiar with the rest of your combat styles.

The troll also begins to eat, occasionally passing some crumbs to the bird on his shoulder.

Ash sits down and starts eating slowly. After a few bites he swallows and while searching what to eat next, he adds:

I can enlarge humanoids. I am telling you, works wonders with the ladies :eh

"Very well. I wouldn't mind. It will make my counterattack gambit less of a gambit." Jarkar nodded. "It seems we would do well to operate in two groups: those who possess stealth and those who are more upfront and personal with their combat style. As far as friendly spellcasting goes, I can offer a strong prayer which will improve our luck."

"My personal preference is to stay at somewhat of a distance so I can shape the battlefield and hinder the enemy."
Morthos says befor he too starts to eat from the feast conjured up by Gabriel.

He continues "While I'm able to turn invisible, I'm not trained in conventional stealth, so I somewhat doubt my use as a scout. I think I shall await the results of our scouts with the rest of you, I might be able to provide you with some assistance if we encounter enemy scouts...

After this he gets a rare orchid from his pack and a tiny bird appears from one of his pouches, feeding on the flower with it's long needlelike beak.
Once it is done it moves over to the bird perched on the troll's shoulder. Curious about his fellow avian he hovers next to the giant, investigating the other bird.

"I can scout for us. But I am not too good at surviving hit after hit, so if someone could use a protection on me, that would help. My combat style is throwing weapons coated with my poison."
Does anyone have the ability to contigency a useful buff or something. Also, any ideas for my Item Familiar if I am going to have one?
Well Dareidor, I'd be happy to use the protective spell on you, but as I said, you'd have to stay pretty close for it to function. If you're off scouting or throwing things from a distance, it won't work.
Shield Other is close range, so 75 feet. I'm guessing you can probably hide if you need to get out of trouble, also, right? I think I will use it on Jarkar, since he has Robiliar's Gambit.

Also, will the damage Thogg absorbs from Shield Other bypass his regeneration?
The black bird on the troll's shoulder croaks loudly at the tiny bird flying around it, and then turns to take a piece of meat from the fat fingers of the troll.

Hmm... I have an idea. A slightly dangerous idea, but perhaps a useful one. I have a large pit which can be folded up and carried like a square of cloth. The non-stealthy among us could climb into this pit, and one of our sneaky members could carry us along inside of it. You can actually leave a small opening while it is folded, so we could still communicate with the person carrying us. Then when we get where we're going, the person carrying the pit can open it up, and we all fly or climb out.

Of course, the danger is what happens if the person carrying the pit gets killed or incapacitated, leaving us stranded in it, or if the pit falls into the hands of an enemy? I'm not sure if you can open it from the inside. It was made as a movable pit trap by kobolds. It is also quite deep, so you'd need a way to fly to get out quickly, even when it is open. What do you all think of this?

I'm not sure. I've never tried it. I'm also not sure if Thogg's body will even fit inside it while he is enlarged. It will be tight. I can dismiss the spell enlarging him if I have to, though. I've never used the pit in this way. I normally just use it for storage, and keep a small construct that crafts items for me in there. Well... I have left Thogg in there a couple of times, to hide him while I was controlling another creature, but he certainly can't teleport out by himself.
Gabriel chuckles.
I'm not sure if you can leave a small opening while carrying it around, actually. After looking at the description again, it says you can make the opening as small as 1 foot while it is lying on the ground. Fully opened, the hole is 10 feet across. It is technically a pocket dimension, so I don't think Teleport would get you out. Plane Shift would, and I do have one prepped, but then you have to deal with the inherent inaccuracy of traveling using that spell. I think Thogg can fit in there by squeezing, but I'm not sure. He is huge and so takes up a space 15 feet across, and as I said the hole is only 10 feet across.

I have no means to fly out of this pit, and as you stated, there are many downsides to the use of this item... I would rather we find a method of increasing our speed so those of us in the back would be able to quickly reach our scouts, should something happen.
