The looming silence in the church promised nothing good and the expectations laid by the atmosphere proved to be very true indeed. Ingham stopped for a second and turned to face our party and continued his story about Sigmund "You do have time to wait over night? Or perhaps even longer?" He ended his questions with a vile smile and soon it became perfectly clear why, a vicious magical attack targetted Morthos.

Also, a new man dressed in grey robes had appeared behind the assault squad smiling. He wore no armor and had no apparent weapons with him at all. This man made no effort to appear dangerous, he merely stood there sneering at the party and clearly enjoying punishing Morthos for daring to enter the temple.

-Irthos: 21
-Ingham: 14

-Llochlyn: 8
Here.

I want a will save from you Bowen (those of you who can make a DC 20 spellcraft check recognize the spell to be Reciprocal gyre. Actually, make a fortitude save too, just in case. It might not be needed, but roll it for good measure.

Good luck boys, let's dance.
So this new guy was immune to my Mindsight? Very nice Tshern :D

Spellcraft DC20 succeeds automatically for me :D

Will: 28 http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1750709/

If Will save fails, I'll use an immediate action to take 1 Con damage to add a bonus to one save equal to the number of Vile Feats I have (+3) (Immediate action):

Fort: 18 http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1750710/ rolled, ad +3 from number of Vile feats for a total of 21

I'm off to bed, will post again tomorrow :)
Let the bodies hit the floor :D

There will be no need for buffing your saves, that 28 will do just fine and as I thought, the fortitude save was meaningless.

You still take some damage though. I assume you have the eight buffs mentioned in your sheet active and then the magical disguise you all have at the moment. That makes nine. Damage is 25 since the 50 I rolled is halved.

EDIT: Changed post to reflect Intellect Fortress (2 more uses left this day)

Yes, 8 buffs and Veil if that also affects Reciprocal Gyre (is it specifically targeted at me, Veil that is? I have no idea what book it's in :P)

Also, can you believe I completely forgot about the dangers of Reciprocal Gyre  :blush

Anywayz...
My turn  :smirk

HP: 64/76

Free actions:
1) Inform Klovis via the telepathic link that shit just hit the fan, a dramatic entrance complete with undead dragon might be nice right about now  :eh

2) Cha bonus on saves for 5 rounds per day (+3) (Free action)(Vile feat)

Move action:
Fly 70 ft. straight up to get out of potential melee range and get a better view of the battlefield.

Standard action:
Cloudkill on the fucking wizard that RG'd me. I'll position it in such a manner that he'll be in it for the longest possible time, so the edge of the spell will be adjacent to the PC closest to this fucker (protip: don't walk into it :P)

The save DC for the Fort save for my Cloudkill is 24.

Cloudkill:
Cloudkill
Conjuration (Creation)
Level: Sor/Wiz 5
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Effect: Cloud spreads in 20-ft. radius, 20 ft. high
Duration: 1 min./level
Saving Throw: Fortitude partial; see text
Spell Resistance: No

This spell generates a bank of fog, similar to a fog cloudFog Cloud:

"Would that be all?" asks the voice from the depths of the clouds Morthos conjured. "I sure hope you did not think this would be enough, servants of the Ninefold Realm," the old man muttered silently and walked out of the cloud still sneering. His presence was definitely out of place in the temple of Pelor for his every cell seemed to emit evil and for some reason he spoke Infernal, not Common.

Another spell struck the party, this time targetting Talsor. This time the incantation was not directly offensive, but ripped away a great part of Talsors power empowering his foe even further, which caused him to smile even more.

OOC: Okay, here we go, you lost Divine power and Superior resistance. I can link you all to the rolls if you wish, but I'd rather keep them secret as they reveal quite a bit of information about your foe...

We don't want to make this too easy, now do we?

Spellcraft DC 20 tells you it is Spell theft. AfterCrescent I need a list of your buffs and their CLs.

Anyone willing to analyze this dude needs to make a Sense motive check (free action) (Bowen did that and succeeded, he walked out unharmed from the Cloudkill.) and if there is something special you want to do regarding him just wait your turn.
(OOC: just been talking to Tshern on MSN, including some rolls for the game)

"Gentlemen, my cloudkill doesn't appear to have worked on this man. Also, he doesn't appear to breath, which might explain the aforementioned..." Morthos communicates to his allies.

"I don't have any spells prepared to deal with undead unfortunately. Is there anyone of you who might be better suited to deal with our new friend? If so, perhaps it would be better if I focus on Ink, although I don't have anything to knock him unconscious instead of killing him if we want to take him in alive...
Also, are there any requests for specific buffs or suggestions as to what to cast next?"

I'm not keen on magic, but could this be a mere projection of his true self ? Our masters always do that. Just wait until I close up with the big one before unleashing your arts on him. He'll have a hard time dealing with magic with me around.

OOC: Buffs - Divine Power, Lesser Infernal Transformation, Righteous Might, Superior Resistance, and Tyche's Touch. Caster Level is 10, but if it's a dispel check, Ring of Enduring Arcana makes it CL 14.

Apparently I have no idea what's happening... >.> Spellcraft (1d20+16=19)

Klovis, feeling the wind through his hair, quickly narrows his eyes as the message reaches him. Hellborn, it's time. His voice, much more commanding now, still shows no signs of any emotion that would be considered... human.

Finally! So how are we doing this, Klove? I don't exactly fit the doors - haven't been watching my weight with all those fatty halflings!
Tshern, how hard are the walls? :P
Everything I learned about DnD I learned from Frank Trollman at The Gaming Den... but nowadays, my work space is the New DnD Wiki.

Note the part about thin glass ;)

Regarding my next action:
Psychic crush can take down one of them in one round (unconscious and dying at -1 hp), however, they get to make a Will save with a +4 bonus, and the save DC is only 18, so if they get a 14 I just wasted a turn...

How big a penalty can you give an opponent on saves, Llochlyn? Would Psychic Crush be worth it then?

Seeing the undead and scanning him for magic, Syris quickly checked to see if the monk did not breathe as well.  Fingers hooked like claws, he slashed at the air in front of him, sending two inky black rays slicing across the monk's chest.  "But wait, there's more!"  he giggled as he ducked out of sight.  (Telepathy)"The magic user is loaded with protection spells, and there is a minor illusion present. We need to bring them down or something.  We need to identify if this is Sigmund, though"

Actions:
Free Action:
Scan the undead for magical auras using Arcane Sight.  Spellcraft (1d20+26=36)
Arcane SightSwift Action:
Activate Hellcat Gauntlets - MiC pg 111 - +1d6 slashing dmg/lvl of spell

Standard Action:
Cast Split Ray Enervation. SR check (1d20+14=25) if it needs it. Ranged Touch Attack (1d20+10=22) for the ray.  If it hits, it deals (2d4=6) Negative Levels along with (6d6=21) negative energy damage and (5d6=18)slashing damage.  And Point Blank Shot adds 1, whatever the hell type of damage you want that to be.

Move Action:
Duck between the pews to hide and move down the aisle 15 feet.  Stealth check (1d20+24=44)

OOC:  I sure hope a 22 hits his touch AC... thank goodness for Flat-Footed I think.  Also, I will add what I tell the party about the Undead guy once/if I know anything.

You see nine auras and two auras from magical items.
-Two Evocations (both moderate, you know one of them is Divine power from Talsor)
-Three Abjurations (two faints, one moderate)
-Two Conjurations (faint and moderate, the latter one is Talsor's Superior resistance. Why the heck is it Conjuration anyway?)
-One Illusion (faint)
-One Divination (faint)
-One Transmutation (faint)

The divination aura is a bit blurry and the magic items are clearly under the clothes of the enemy. The auras of the items are moderate.
Edit: I added a faint Transmutation aura, forgot that.

All of the sneer and contempt remained on the face of the undead spellcaster as he observed Syris' relentless attack against Ink even as he saw the results: Ink fell down dead immediately showing with no chance of survival. One down, one to go.

"Was it absolutely necessary to kill him? He had served Pelor very well until I got here..." the undead said with his hollow voice and laughed.
