Please help and rate this TOB build
« on: October 21, 2009, 10:01:19 PM »
So I'm getting a chance to play in a near epic campaign.. And I've had this idea

He will be an infiltrator type character. Thus far he looks like:

Changeling Lvl 18
Swordsage 3/Monk(Cobra Strike) 2/Warblade 2/Warshaper 4/Master of the Nine 5

Stats in order (after levels but pre boosts): 14, 21, 18, 14, 16, 8

With the following abilities:
Uncanny Dodge, AC Bonus, Flurry of Blows, Evasion, Morphic Features, Morphic Immunities, Morphic Weapons, Morphic Body, Morphic Reach, Morphic Healing, Quick to Act, Discipline Focus, Weapon Focus, Battle Clarity, Weapon Aptitude, Dual Stance, Perfect Form, Counter Stance, Master of Nine.

With the following feats:
Blind-Fight, Combat Reflexes, Dodge, Mobility, Improved Initiative, Improved Unarmed Strike, Two-Weapon Fighting, Weapon Focus, Adaptive Style, Shadow Blade

Is this an ok build and what Magic Items/Maneuvers do you think I should have? I'm looking for any and all ideas/suggestions??

Are the levels as you wrote them placed in the order you're gaining them? This could influence which maneuvers you get for warblade, since IL is half your character level+that specific martial adept level. Also, to which class will Master of the Nine apply?

Yes they are in the order in which I shall take them

Master of Nine will apply to Swordsage

Thanks :)

You ought to take the Carmendine Monk feat for Int to AC, then buy some items to boost your Dex, Int, and Wis into the sky...

See if you can't get Con, Str, and Cha to AC as well.

Monk is Wis to AC is no armor.
Swordsage is Wis to AC is light armor. Not light armor or less.

Just saying.

Ahh..

I hadn't noticed the AC bonus for Swordsage didn't count unless you lightly armoured.. Ouch. But I was really taking monk for the bonus feats (easier access to MON) and evasion.

BAB is fractional which makes that up a little :)

How can I make this better? From what I can see he's not really going to hit very hard :(

Warshaper technically does not limit the number of weapons you can create, AFAIK. So get Multiattack.

There aren't really many useful maneuvers to take with lots of attacks. Raging Mongoose and Time Stands Still are the staples.  Can you get a source of Pouncing?

Wasn't the whole light armor/no armor thing fixed via errata?  Or was it just that most understand and go beyond the words on that particular bit and follow some likely RAI sense?

Adding MoN maneuvers to your Warblade list is probably better since you can use a turn (a swift then full round action) to (full) attack and recover maneuvers.
Hood - My first answer to all your build questions; past, present, and future.

Speaking of which:
Don't even need TO for this.  Any decent Hood build, especially one with Celerity, one-rounds [Azathoth, the most powerful greater deity from d20 Cthulu].
Does it bug anyone else that we've reached the point where characters who can obliterate a greater deity in one round are considered "decent?"

I am pretty sure that it was answered by CS and/or Sage and that indeed it was supposed to be in Light or no armor.

IIRC there was simply a statement (probably in the Sage stuff) that said the intent was for Swordsage AC to work in light or no armor, but that it was also intended not to stack with Monk AC.  So either you plan strict RAW and say they can't stack because Swordsage AC only works in Light Armor, or you play by RAI in which case you can have your Swordsage AC bonus without armor but they don't stack anyway.  By no valid interpretation do the Swordsage and Monk ACs stack.

But would it stack if we were unarmored and had Carmedine Monk? So +dex+wis+int+no armor or shield? Oh and then Deep warden and VoP.

Dragon Magazine I believe but am not sure.  Not a variant used in my group as we don't use Dragon.

Ah, thanks.  That's why I wasn't sure.  My group doesn't use FR material either.
