LEON DUPONT aka: RONIN
« on: October 10, 2009, 03:13:58 PM »
THEN...

The man who called him self "Ronin" was bleeding. Of course, not all of the blood that was on your clothes was yours. The man fought well to preserve his life, sticking a knife in you, but the end the garrote dug deeply into the flesh of his neck and he was no longer anyone's problem except for maybe the morgue.

You'd tossed you bag of gear into the back of your rented car. You were only in the States for the weekend, and the Job ran a little over-- now you were in a hurry, driving down a winding forested road away from the cabin where the writer's body lay cooling in his own blood.

You hear a ridiculous Whooop-Whoooop! And you immediately check your rear view mirror to see blue and red lights flashing atop of a squad car. The squad car hits the siren again this time leaving it on. WhoooOOOOOOoooooOOOOOOoooooOOOP!

For a moment your heart skips a beat.
The police couldn't have picked the worst time to lay in wait in a Speed Trap. You checked your speedometer-- you weren't going more than maybe 5 miles over the limit.

Hopefully the rented Duesenberg Knight* was an even enough match for the TMC Queen Elizabeth Police Interceptor**. However the stock engine in Ronin's vehicle may not be on par with the Interceptors heavy-duty engine...

The squad lights continue from behind flashing in blue and red. An amplified voice is heard, "Pull over to the side of the road and stop your vehicle."

Just then your cellphone rings. The caller is Jane Gordon.

"Oui, Jane? I can't really talk right now, the mission has been compromised. Someone must have alerted the target beforehand, he was waiting for me.

I'm currently trying to deal with one of those speedtraps the Americans seem so fond about, if they catch me the whole operation may be in jeopardy...
I'm bleeding and I have Castle's blood all over me, not to mention the gun in the back."

You are driving through a winding and heavily forested section of southeast Pennsylvania. The road is an asphalt paved two lane; one for each flow of traffic. you haven't seen any other traffic yet. This squad car must've been hiding behind that bill board for the Spring Mountain ski resort.

"Bleeding? Badly?" Jane's voice was steep in concern, "Put me on speakerphone so you can talk. Do you have your GPS with you?"

This car isn't made to outrun a patrol car.

Which would the client prefer, you think? A wounded or killed cop or an operative in jail that knows too much?"

"Right. I'll leave you to your work then." Jane said. "Call me when you are free, we need to talk." with that the call ends.

The flashing lights continue unabated from behind with the siren wailing.
Can I see how many policemen are in the patrolcar?

Any good area that's preferably somewhat out of sight and quiet to pull over?
Apparently it is night, and you cannot make out how many officers are in the car. You are able to pull over along the side of the road as there is ample shoulder space. You don't see any hidden away places to tuck away to conduct business as it were.

The lack of other vehicles though is a comfort should you need to do anything... permanent.

Glancing at the rental vehicle's clock, the time was close to 1:43 AM.

Attack: 12
AP: 5 for a total of 17

Damage: 7

Initiative: 6

Can you use more than 1 AP per round? If so, I'll use one on Initiative as well. If the limit is 1, I'll keep the one for the attack roll :) (my 'copy' of the book is missing the section on Action Points :banghead)

AP: 4 for a total of 10.

That should be all the rolls needed I think :)

The police car pulled to the side of the road behind your rent-a-car. The headlights were bright, and you could still see the police lights painting everything they touched in color.

After what seemed like an eternity, the silhouette of the officer comes into view in the headlights, slowly stalking towards the rear of your vehicle where he seems to be looking at something.

The man is holding a mag light in one hand, and his other hand resting on his firearm in its holster at his waist.

Spot Check, please?

You don't notice anything else.

The police officer is being wary, staying a little behind Ronin, ready to pull his weapon. He taps on the window and says "Roll it down. Keep your hands where I can see them."
