Q204 - Other than having someone else cast PaO, what is the earliest you can enter into Beholder Mage without relying on another person? MoMF seems to do it at level 7/8 which is the same as Druid more or less. I need to get into it by level 6 and have 500,000gp to make sure I do and it's a Gestalt level 15 campaign.

I am looking for another method, PaO will be my fall back if I can't find anything else. Should probably have mentioned we get +2LA for free or +4LA free if we scrap all our crafting experience.

How many HD do they have? Metamorphosis is only limited by manifester level. So it might be possible to get in earlier with an ardent/cerebremancer with bloodlines and Metamorphic Transfer.

A true Beholder has 11 HD.

EDIT: How the fuck did I not think of this? Use early entry with Divine Minion to get into MoMS by level 2.

Mulhorandi Divine Minion. Roughly halfway down on the page. Gives you wild shape (into a specific animal, but still wild shape) as a lvl 11 druid, at will, as a free action for +1 LA. I shit you not, but got ninja'd anyway.

Yes. The DM may require you to also take Assume Supernatural Ability to be able to put out the "antimagic eye" (in which case you'd have to take the feat at 3 and enter at ECL 5), though. Are flaws allowed?

Yes and I have enough gold to retrain a ton of magical locations too

Divine Minion(LA1 Boughtoff) / Master of Many Forms 2 / Beholder Mage 2 or 10 / Ur Priest 1 / Dual Progression 10 Maybe. Would be Double 9s at level 15 and that's good enough for me. I don't want to go too overboard because there's still the other half of my Gestalt to figure out lol.

A205 I don't see why not, but I always liked a Fleshraker myself. Cheetah is nice for speed, most of the animals you can pick have some kind of redeeming feature.

Most preferred stat is Int or any mental stat. Con/Dex is also useful but Str can take a walk. Also I am not undead, so undead templates are out.

Firesouled / Lloth Touched / Dragonborn templates have been looked at so far as good ones, but Lloth and Dragonborn would conflict with my religion and don't increase mental stats.

Races so far nothing outstanding that i've found besides Death Touched, +1LA -2con +2 wis +4cha.

A Primordial Giant Half-Giant would be +1 LA with -2 Str, -2 Dex, +4 Int, +4 Cha and the ability to use Invisibility (or See invisibility, or Levitate) at will as a spell-like ability at caster level 1.

Primordial Giant is from Secrets of Xen'drik.

You could pull something similar off with a Primordial Giant Eneko (Secrets of Sarlona) which would, IIRC, have stats of -2 Str, -2 Dex, +4 Int, +2 Cha, but would have Darkvision, and could use Endure Elements and Pass without Trace each once per day as spell-like abilities, in addition to the one gained from Primordial Giant.

Actually Primordial Giant doesn't touch LA, but the lowest LA on any Giant I know of is +1 (Half Giant).

Perhaps I should explain a bit more, the character is for a series of duals, he is level 17: bard5 / spellthief 1/ lyric thermatige 9 / sublime chord 2 (house ruled that LT progresses SC) and I want to combine Song of Arcane Power with Draconic polymorph, but require some HD to supplement the caster level (in other words; not enough stuff to eat )

Wyrmlings? I think the Steel one was 4 HD and a +2 LA. Not sure where it is, though.
