Immediate Magic question

The Conjuration version - "You teleport up to 10 feet. You can't bring along any other creatures."

Can anyone tell me how this actually works? Is it like casting the Teleport spell? Can I teleport through a wall? etc. etc.

It resolves like a dimension door, although some DMs require line of effect (so more like dimension hop).

The important bit is that you can disappear before anyone attacks you, since it's an immediate action.
