That situation is impossible.

You can't fit through a ring gate. They're not that big. Plus there's a weight limit for passing through.

is partial BAB/saves allowed?

EDIT: eldritch glaive, being a melee touch attack, it uses +dex to hit, right?  and you can power attack with it, right?

Partials are from UA, right? ;)

You cannot power attack with Eldritch Glaive. Check page 72 of CArc for feats you can use with it. Weapon Finesse lets you use Dex instead of Str for it, though. If you don't have WF, you use Str.

Darn. Between no partial BABs and the starting XP I probably won't be able to go Binder/(Arcane Spellcaster)/Anima Mage/Legacy Champion. Will probably have to think of something else...

Make sure to check the sources allowed, people. :D

You can't go Legacy Champion anyways, Kuro. Weapons of Legacy isn't an allowed source.

Can one make a ranged attack through a ring gate?
A player once asked me if there was any way to make a Tarrasque more evil... 3 sessions later he was stoned with D20s as the PC led an exidus out of the path of a Dire Tarrasque of Legendary Wonder.

Yes, you can. You can even cast spells through it.

And I said in my earlier post for this situation "Let's assume I'm 6 inches tall". It is not an impossible situation. And as long as an item doesn't pass all the way through, it doesn't even count towards the weight limit. So I could stick parts of my body in and out of it all day long, with no limit, as long as I don't go all the way through.

I hate to be pushy here, but you've basically nerfed every idea I've came up with into oblivion with house rules or interpretations, some of them after they'd been initially approved. So I'm a bit frustrated with this whole thing.

If I stick my hand through and leave it there, right next to my psicrystal/familiar on the other side of the Ring Gate, then I should definitely count as being "within 5 feet of them". I don't think any other interpretation is reasonable or fair.

My apologies, I thought you said 6 feet tall. I apparently can't read. :embarrassed

Ring Gates don't actually minimize distance. There's no interpretation about it. You're either in a 5' square or you're not. If you're in a 5' square, then your familiar must either be in the same square, or an adjacent one.  What you're trying is some manner of logical interpretation which doesn't apply in D&D rules. In D&D, 5' squares are how you measure the world. Ring Gates don't change that. So, again, if you're reaching through a ring gate and casting a spell (which is perfectly legal) you can target the companion (animal companion, familiar, psicrystal) with spells that would only target you, but to share a spell cast on you with it, it MUST be within your square or an adjacent square and remain so as long as the spell is in effect, or it gets canceled. That's just how the ability works.

Now I don't think I've been nerfing every idea you've had. I admit we had a disagreement on one rule, but I was corrected, as I was wrong.  You can use Fission & Fusion on your familiar and psicrystal. If you feel frustrated anyways, there's not much I can say about that.

It may make you feel better to know that after thinking it over and checking PHB2's feat for animal companions, I'm fine with that homebrew version of Enspell Familiar. Within 30 feet is fine. :)

Yes, still working on it, just a bit busy with uni.

Should be able to have a basic sheet up after next week though.

Same here. I'm actually a little stumped.

Here's what I'm initially considering: Human Binder1/Sorcerer2/Anima Mage10/Uncanny Trickster3/XX (swap Binder and Sorcerer levels, potentially). This character would obviously be very gish-y in feel (I'm considering skimping out armor altogether. The Tarrasque will always freaking hit me, might as well have a neglectable AC. Heck, I'm even considering a masochist build for kicks). The ideal goal would be level 16 EBL and as close to 17 casting as I can get. Maybe get an ACF or two for Sorcerer to get into KoSS or something...

This is a question aimed at Risada, Vinom, and archangel.arcanis:

I have narrowd myself down to two builds.  Do you want me going with a sorcerer base with boosted Save DCs, CL, and SR penetration specializing in BFC and a few damage spells, or do you want me going Wizard/War Weaver/ Spellguard of Silverymoon and being a focused buffer?  Either way I'll do buffing and BFC, I just want to know which you want me to focus most of my attention on.

my glaivelock will be a spellthief1/incarnate2/wizard1/warlock1/unseen seer5/hellfire warlock3/uncanny trickster3/shadowlord4, just not in that order.  haven't written out charsheet or picked gear yet, was waiting til I actually had a team.

Debuff the crap out of the Tarrasque.... if you can make it fail 100% of the time  :P

Yeah yeah, I meant Debuff when I wrote BFC.  I was distracted.   :p

So, Omega Black Onslaught (that's our name according to the current games thread so it has stuck) should I go Buffing or Debuffing?  (We've got one for debuffing.)

we get rated based on how fast we kill the beasties, not how easily.

also, Am I the only one who plans on slapping a targeted grease on the tarrasque as soon as I seem him? seems to good to pass up.... as my "one object" target, I choose you!

betcha they didn't rebuild em with ranks in balance  :smirk
