Summon Monster & Greenbound
« on: September 01, 2009, 07:01:35 PM »
I'm working on my druid for the game I am rejoining and I decided to go Arcane Heirophant.

The character has Greenbound Summoning at Level 1 thanks to being a human and having the flaw Murky Eye.

Would Greenbound Summoning affect the monsters from Summon Monster?

I don't remember the exact text and I don't have my books here at work.

I think they become magical beasts b/c of fiendish/celestial, so probably not...

As mentioned, they don't since the summon monster "animals" are already templated Fiendish/Celestial.  Also, the feat specifically mentions that it only works on "animals summoned with Summon Nature's Ally".

Ashbound is also just for SNA.  If you want a feat to apply to Summon Monster you need Augment Summoning.

Though, you should take Greenbound anyways, since it's really good.  Take Augment Summoning too...they stack.
If at first you don't succeed - maybe failure is your style.

I've got Greenbound and Augment Summoning, going to have to ditch Ashbound unfortunately, I need another Practiced Spellcaster for both Sorcerer and Druid.
