Tinker Artificer
« on: August 25, 2009, 02:07:53 AM »
Alright, hi people, I'm here with a request of help, I have lots of memory for rules, but no practical use. SO can someone help me build a tinker artificier? One that specialises in creating items for a fraction of the cost, in a small time frame if possible. I've read in DMG I that creating items is 8 hours a day, does that mean that with a building homonculus thing, we can actually speed crafting or is it just me? Well, suggestions are welcome or simply help, I just don't wanna make a gestalt, seems weird to me. Thanks in advance people.

Edit : No answer with 30 views, I take it this is either hard to make, nobody has info or everyone doesn't give a damn :S. Well if you can manage to find anything of help, I'd be happy if you shared it.

Look at the item creation feats in ECS, for cutting back costs and time.

It blows MoMF out of the water

Yes, I'm the 3.0 "Masters of the Wild" shifter, the awesome kind. My favorite form to take is Force Dragon. Yes, I am immortal ... My character is hands down the coolest guy in the campaign and there is nothing I could possibly want.

Wow, flamers :) that's a first for me. So let me clarify things, I know how to use google and the search utility, and trust me, I hate having to post for help. So i searched but almost everything I can ffind is for a blastifier, which isn't needed in the team since we have 2 people at the front. Also the creation feats are rather limited, 25% calculated after the 50% decrease in cost is still alot (cheap, sorry). Also about the question I asked after the help.

The caster also needs a fairly quiet, comfortable, and well-lit place in which to work. Any place suitable for preparing spells is suitable for making items. Creating an item requires one day per 1,00 gp in the item's base price, with a minimum of at least one day [...]
The caster works for 8 hours each day. He cannot rush the process by working longer each day. But the daus need not be consecutive, and the caster can use the rest of his time as he sees fit[...]
I skipped some useless parts but there you have it. With a Dedicated Wright (homonculus that helps you build stuff with you have a life), is it possible to make him for the whole 24 hours, since I doubt constructs need to eat, or sleep for that matter and as such, divide the total time for crafting by 3?

Get the dedicated wright, and stick it in a portable hole (or the MUCH cheaper Enveloping Pit from the Magic Item Compendium). Ask your DM whether a construct can craft 3x as much, as per a strict reading of the rules it can't.

A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.
...thanks
