Speaking of Kell's builds...I'm thinkin' I'd like to see what Kell does when trying to bring a Sorcerer up to his usual standard of crazy, awesome, and crazy-awesome. Perhaps something that abominates the previous record of spells known or something?

As a beginning, I'm thinking something like sandshaper and shadowcraft mage as prestige classes, maybe using psychic reformation to swap some of those spells for even better ones. Maybe use the magical locations feat shuffle to pick up 55 iterations of Extra spell...

Just kinda brainstorming foundations right now, I'd bet Kell would take my ramblings and turn it up to 12.

Wouldn't Warmage base be better for a spells known record?  Unless you strictly want a Sorc record, in which case the PsyRef the Suck trick on a WM is a moot point :P  I've thought about making a guide about that too, or adding to the existing one here that the previous warmage expert did (ChristopherGroves).

The psyref thing was in reference to something i saw in the dirty trick handbook, about using psychic reformation to reform the spells gained by the 1st level of sandshaper.

Also, I somehow managed to forget about the warmage, but I still think you'd probably pull something gonzo out of sorcerer specifically.

Better yet, Is there a way to squeeze shadowcraft mage into the warmage?

This project is running hand in hand with a couple  others.  While we wait, a further adaptation of the dragon based class from earlier in this thread.  Wyrm of War + Psionic Overhaul + Spellhoarding (the one that makes a dragon Vancian) = Erudite Initiator with full manifesting/BAB/IL and a d12 HD with good saves!

EDIT : Oh, and Blade Scholar instead of Warblade, which is also that form of Vancian.  Basically a Chameleon with 20 levels.

Ruathar only works inside a specific country.  As everybody knows, embassies are considered part of the parent country, not part of whereever they actually are.  Thus, you're flying around in an embassy.

This one's easy :

Warmage 6/Incantatrix 10/Shadowcraft Mage 4
-Take Arcane Disciple to snag Silent Image as a spell known (along with 8 others)
-Take Spell Focus (Illusion)
-Buy Iron Will
-Enjoy being a non-suck warmage :P

Goal : TBS capability with no banned schools
Secondary : Snagging recharge!
Tertiary : Snagging spontaneous casting!

Wizard 3/Metaphysical Spellshaper 3/Incantatrix 4/Halruaan Elder 5/Primal Scholar 5
-Major Bloodline with an Item Familiar to eat the XP loss
-Spontaneous casting from MPSS and Sanctum Spell
-Snowcasting, Frozen Magic, sanctum in a frostfell environment with frostfell persisted for +4 CL
-Base CL 40
-Persisting at will from Metamagic Effect and persistent unfettered Heroism
-Recharge up to 8th level spells from Primal Scholar's Secret at will from above persisted spell
-Recharge 9th's from Versatile Spellcaster feat
-Can still use all the same tricks as the Red Wizard for boosting CL, while requiring no components if Eschew is taken
-Can do even more damage with Cold Spell Spec, as all spells are [Cold]
-Can get 2 bonus spells per level by subbing familiar for [Alignment] descriptor and becoming a Focused Specialist a la Batman's trick on the Making Wizard's Spontaneous guide
-3 levels of Wizard means Natural Bond if you pick the familiar back up via Acquire Familiar
-If you wanna go ToAL, go Focused Transmuter and keep the familiar, using the feat on True Believer

Well heck, if that's the way you're going, why not something like using Beguiler instead, getting rainbow servant back in there, and replacing the arcane disciple for silent image with some other feat.

Like, say, Beguiler 1/Rainbow Servant 10/Shadowcraft Mage 3/Somethingorother 6

Also, I'm rather fond of ascending to godhood, is there a way for this thing to get free Ice Assassin, or free epic spells, like the dweomerkeeper and shadowcraft mage respectively?

Major Bloodline = 8th level Primal Scholar goodies

Ice Assassin has material components, which we blithely ignore with Snowcasting.  And any good ubermage has a store of Liquid Pain ;)

so then what would said ubermage look like without using 3rd party sources (namely BoEF)? Just replace Metaphysical Spellshaper with more Wizard or Incantatrix levels? Be a focused transmuter with your favorite magical book?

I do love a good build thread. Which this is.

But... I think it would be cool if you threw in some builds that werent level 20. Nothing super low.. but maybe afew level 10-15 builds?

Im not sure how many people here at the forums actually play epic, or even all the way to 20. But I know in my own group we rarely make it all the way to 20, usually around 17-19 we finish the games. At that point I could easily insert some of your builds.
But I do enjoy throwing in some good builds at the mid-range levels  :D

Well, that last build he put up, a few posts up, you could probably get it down to level 15 by removing primal scholar. As far as I can tell reading that class, all it contributes there is a recharge mechanic, and the ridiculous bits like the free metamagic, circle magic, and being awesome in general come from the other 15 levels. Heck, I'm currently toying with trying to replace those 3 levels of metaphysical spellshaper with shadowcraft mage.

I'm not completely sure, but what I can gather is that bloodline levels are like phantom levels, but all they really take in terms of price is an income tax on your XP, which is offset by the extra XP granted by Item Familiar. If someone (I'm betting on The Mad Linguist) wants to come in and correct me on that, they are more than welcome to.

My go-to guy on that is PlzBreakMyCampaign, and after double checking everything he's posted about them, we're on the same page about how they work.  You either pay for them while leveling and catch up, or you pay for them the easy way with an Item Familiar and stay even with the party :D

Also, most of my wizards are unbroken casting progression 1-20, so can work just fine at lvl 10-15.
