After over hearing the Shaman Pingo looks back and Eisen catches his eye. Neither of them needed his hands to communicate. They had a mission. Could they afford to stop when they were racing the pale skins? Pingo takes another sip from his gourd. Hell, could they leave right now? In his tipsy state he felt ready for anything. He sighed. A dilemma indeed. Especially after the precious gift he just received.

Pingo picked up his gourd and slowly sipped it, his eyes peering over the lip. Well, he knew what he was going to do. When the time for a decision came Pingo would throw his lot in to look for the boy. This Balum made him curious though. He had simply left behind his friend?

"When the feast has finished, and I suspect that It will be over soon looking at my fellow villagers... I wish to speak with you in my home. " Peter the Shaman said in a low voice, out of earshot of the chief.

The villagers revelry in the guests honor finally wrapped up, with only a handful of natives sitting introspectively into the fires.

The Shaman brought a young man, perhaps only 16, to the group. He introduced the brown-skinned lad as the boy who had accompanied the chief's son into the caves...
He stands there uncertainly before the collection of light-skinned explorers, and Pingo. The Shaman explains that he will translate between the boy and the group.

"Any questions?"

"Do you honestly think there is a chance that the boy is still alive, or would it be to return a body to the chief?" Brusque and serious, Eisen had long considered how this could be a waste of time in the long run of the groups mission.

Much softer than her German companion, "Balum is it? How long ago did you journey into the underworld with your friend?"

Pete the Shaman nodded to the woman, and then spoke words in their native tongue to the young native boy. The boy returned the conversation, directing his attention towards the lady and her cohorts. Pete listened nodding, and then in his crisp British accent he translated. "Balum says, that two days ago he and his friend were separated in the caves north of the village."

"Are we seriously thinking about doing this? The Nazis have good time on us! We don't even know if they're behind or ahead! Nothing against you or your tribe," he says half-handedly to Pete.

Richard nods in acknowledgement to Eisen.  "He has a point."  He then realizes something and looks towards his recently acquired companions.  "Have you been told what our mission is?"

"No, I have not been told of your mission. Though based our German friend's admission it involves Nazi's." Having visited Germany just prior to the Beer Hall Putsch as a little girl, she knows how badly the political climate has changed in that country. "It doesn't sound like your working for them. So what is your mission?"

Richard considers what he is going to say, not wanting to reveal too much because he isn't sure what she will be able to accept."Long story short we're trying to keep the Nazi's from taking an ancient evil artifact.  If they get it they will probably win the war."

Mal practically chokes at hearing we are keeping an EVIL ARTIFACT from NAZIS to SAVE THE WORLD.
"What!? That sounds so crazy it should be in a comic strip. Look I ain't no friend of a Nazi and I do owe you one for keeping me out the fire, litterally, but d'you mind reconsidering running off into the jungle after something that shouldn't exist from people who shouldn't be here." After a slight pause for thought Mal continues. "I'll help just 'cause I owe you guys saved us, but if Ms. Rose doesn't want to go I'm obligated to her first."

Pete the Shaman and the young man confer for a moment. "If you decide to help the chief in this matter, you will have the sworn love of this tribe. This boy can lead you... and I daresay... if you are seeking to keep a great and powerful artifact out of the hands of these Not-sees, perhaps I can tell you of a legend that has been passed down amongst my people since the beginning."

"I will go to my hut to await any who care to learn more."

With that, Pete the Shaman and his crisp British accent took thier leave of the group. The boy took off in another direction. Likely in search of his own bed.

Richard looks at Mal.  "There is more to it than that, but try to keep an open mind."

After listening to Pete, Richard looks thoughtful.  "These people probably know things that would help."

"They could be hepful as guides, instead of relying on an old notebook from an explorer not used to the lands. But that benefit could be moot if we can't deal with this boy quickly.

"If these caves are close enough, then fine, but let us decide now, and move out one way or another. I don't mean to be hasty, but time is not a commodity for us right now."

Harrison "Bones" Avery adjusts his fedora upon his head, with one hand while taking a swig from a small metal flask of bourbon. He glances at the lean South American fighting machine known as Pingo.

"I think Pingo and I may be one mind about this, but I could be wrong."
he says, "Pingo and I have long ties with this tribe. These are GOOD people. They may be naked, and uncivilized, but I think we could do them some good. This is a human life, and at the very least some closure for these generous people... Besides... I owe the Chief a favor."

Looking up from the remains of his dinner, Dr. Loder considers for a moment.  "While there is some need for haste, I'm wondering how the Germans will deal with the problem of the ancient Mayan language...  I'd be rather surprised if they had a linguist who could decipher it with any sort of speed.  And besides, helping these people seems like the right thing to do!"

Looking to the group, Rose says, "I have seen quite a bit in my missionary work down here. An ancient evil artifact might be a bit of a stretch though, but if Nazi Germany wants it then I think it may be in our best interest to assist these men if we can Mr. Newman. If it turns out though that there really is something of actual evil then it probably better off destroyed then in anyones hands." she holds up her small bible, "If there is one thing I have learned from the good book, its that power tends to corrupt those who hold it. Even those who may have good intentions initially."

"As for the lost boy, it is another human life and affects a whole village of lives. If we have it in our power to help we should do so." she smiles at each of them knowing that in her short time with them she can trust they will likely do the right thing.
