Rice, sweet chili, beef roulades filled with red onions, chili, garlic, lime juice and red wine vinegar. All this crowned with a few glasses of delicious Californian red wine.

Ah, the food was fabulous, but the wine actually surprised me. Very good, very high quality for its price.

California makes some decent wine.  Supposedly, the state I'm from (Virginia) makes good wine, but I find Virginia wines to have a too pronounced bite for my tastes.

I am not too familiar with wines coming from N and S Americas. Mostly doing Italian really, but I am trying to expand my experiences a bit.

Tried some cidre in France last month. It's good, even though I don't normally like sour wines.

Unrelatedly, made top 4 at Zendikar Game Day (MtG) today. :D

Last weekend, BimR ran a marathon and then came over to my house where I threw her a surprise party. She was exhausted but had fun. Overall it was a good day. This weekend, she returned the favor and threw a surprise party for me. Totally got me, and it was great. :)

A 5k dear. Not a marathon.

But I'm glad you had a good time. It was a bitch to plan and afford.  0:)

Heh, 5k is quite different from a marathon, I suppose. Let me know if you ever intend to run a marathon though, we could have our training schedules mixed. After half a marathon in full combat gear that should be doable.

Got a package from Finland! It was almost a week late due to the postal strike, so the rye bread (no chance of getting decent rye bread here) must all be eaten today, so I am in for a marathon.

If you sit still long enough, something else will grow on you, like mold, I named mine Bob, he is probably sentient by now.
