Two bags
« on: August 10, 2009, 05:00:28 AM »
I've said this quite a few times in here, but I am moving to another country in little more than a month. The problem is I don't have the money or interest to move my furniture there (nor enough knowledge about the facilities). This is where the truly creative solutions come in when it comes to packing...

To cut the story short, my memory sucks and there must be several dozens of small things I have to take with me and here is where I'd love you to step in. I know I got to take clothes, sheets and whatnot, but how about the small objects like electronics? Here are some I have listed:
-Cell recharger
-All laptop equipment
-A few sets of AA and AAA batteries just in case
-Adapters to make sure I can actually get electricity from the plugs
-Camera, USB cable and recharger
-Digital alarm clock

After this I am somewhat lost. Any help?

Ether.
Rope.
Personal Lubricant.

A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.
...thanks

-Cell recharger
Should probably bring the cell phone, too. ;)

Also, don't forget all little bathroom things. Whenever I travel I always forget one piece of equipment, whether it be forgetting the toothbrush when I brought the toothpaste or the deodorant.

I suffer from a few forms of obsessive behaviour and forgeting things is one of them. I never forget my stuff anywhere or so. Hence why I am doing this. Pretty goddamn weird, but still. I am going to read this thread right before I leave and then, probably, continue my little diary and whine how I did not get enough free beer during the flight. Tis gonna be awesome.

If you got a nonzero amount of free beer on the flight, then tell me the name of the airline so I can use them exclusively in the future.   When I flew to Orlando, I didn't even get free water (although when I got airsickness during the second part of the flight, they did give me half a cup of ginger ale.)  On the way back, they were offering one free cup of either soda, tea, or coffee.

All normal flights with Finnish airlines (and, as far as I know, common flights between countries in Europe) offer a a warm meal and something to drink with those. When I flew to London a few years back, I was so drunk I could hardly get off the plane when we landed. Awesome shit.

Ah.  Lame that I won't be able to take advantage of that on domestic flights, pretty cool if I ever go overseas.

Yeah... It's hard for me to imagine the scale of American flights, since a lot of them can be a lot longer than my flights from here to England. Funny to live in a little country like this and think about it though. As long as I get beer and wine, I am not complaining,

As a research thing, a flight from here to Turku would involve a 32-ish hour travel time, with a 2 hour layover in Copenhagen.  (Lame that if I extend that layover so I can see Copenhagen, it doubles the price of the ticket.  but I digress.)  However, some beer and a hot meal would make the trip more tolerable.

Give me your goddamn town and I am going to get you a shorther flight. It took me like ten or eleven hours to get to Chicago and that included a landing in Stockholm...

I live in Dayton, VA.  I was going to fly out of Dulles International, but I could fly out of Charlottesville or Richmond.  I would rather not go anywhere near Baltimore.

Dulles? The place where Die Hard 2 took place (directed by a Finn, by the way!). Anyway, I'll have a look tomorrow, now I am going to bed. Just for laughs, I want to see how good a flight I can get.

Yeah, anything over a +1 is a waste. You can always use GMW on it.
