Alright, some basic questions about obstacles that I've run into and would like to gauge your guy's opinion towards?

Question #1. When it says there is a 40 gp limit does that mean for purchasing or crafting (as you only spend 1/3 base price when crafting)?

Question #2. Would it be reasonable to assume that if PoDunk, the smallest Thorp, was filled with a group of kobold miners they'd be able to mine a gem at least worth 100 gp? Or does question #1 hit this away?

Question #3. What can you reasonably do with a low handle animal score, in the way of gaining animals?

A#3: Guard Dogs.
How about Dire bats?  We could mount them and then have them air bomb any invaders with heavy rocks.  Fall damage gives you 20d6, no save.
True Sign of Player Paranoia:
Player:"I look out of the keep"
DM:"There are no visible armies"
Player:"Aw crap theres an Invisible army!"

There are also no rules for dropping heavy things on people (that I know of). Every DM I've seen this come up under has either called for some kind of attack roll, or given the defender a reflex save (usually with a lowish DC, like 15).

A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.
...thanks

actually, the DMG lists the reflex save DC of a falling object as "DC 15 negates", so just drops stuff on them would default to that rule.
I do not suffer from paranoia; I enjoy every second of it.

Ahh, but dropping Yourself, gets the Fat Jumper idea going.
And that's still doable.

That was High Jump check + Weigh Too Much, all in 3 or 4 feats.
Anybody remember that one?

Obese [Flaw]
Prerequisite: Dexterity 13 or lower, you may not be Lightweight.
Effect: You have double the base weight for your race.  Height and weight modifiers are added normally.  You suffer a -1 penalty to AC and on attack rolls, as well as a -4 penalty on Hide checks.  You must pay double the cost for armor, but not for any magical enhancements the armor might have.  Such armor weighs twice the normal amount.  (Dragon 328)

Then there's Willing Deformity and Deformity: Obese. I think the base race was Warforged, though it might have changed later on in the thread.
It always seems like the barrels around here have something in them.

I knew about the BoVD related Deformity: Obese, but wow, Obese is a flaw?! Nice
That's just two feats, and the flaw helps instead of hurting.
iirc - Hide armor can be cheap enough for PoDunk, and it just makes you weigh more. Craftable too.

I thought the original Fat Jumper build was a Half-Orc, but this is better.

I loved the original fat jumper build.

I think it went with warforged and adamantine body, and then the aforementioned flaw+deformity.  I made a version of it as a 1st level conjurer, using abrupt jaunt and/or a flying familiar and benign transposition to teleport over people and drop onto them.  Hilarity ensues :P

The original was a Warforged Duskblade 20 with Adamantine Body and two Reserve feats, along with Obese flaw, WD: Obesity, and an Adamantine Tower Shield (for extra weight). Swift action: gain 20 temporary HP. Standard action: Teleport 20ft above the target, and adjust angle. Fall and deal 20d6 to them, 2d6 to yourself (negated by the temporary HP). Repeat.

At-will 20d6, with high AC and a backup plan in case shit hit the fan.
