Got my hands on the Modern Players Compendium, thanks for the tip, Jace :)

I'll probably have to wait for another level or 2, but Dead Shot does look decent :)

Also,
...You want us to run up in front while you're blasting away on autofire?   :twitch
How does our crazy Russian plan to avoid this problem?

And one last question for our friendly neighbourhood GM:
Jace, how hard will it be to obtain ammunition in this campaign? That might be something to consider for those of us who're thinking of using automatic weapons...

I'm the resident Tech expert, as well as knowledgeable about law and business and good at anything related to a machine.   :D

You will not likely be able to go to an Ammo store on Isle Noir, I would plan ahead. This could mean selecting weapons that use commonly found ammo types; if you happen to find any on site, you can reload.

This game will be a bit more gritty than the Artifact, which ATM has a pulp-sort of feel. This game will be more realistic in that you have to be able to carry everything you are taking, through a variety of terrain. We will be tracking ammo usage carefully.

Yes, all considerations for Gun Bunnies.

Do we have any idea about the callibers we might find? 9mm, .45, 5.56 mm, 7.62mm?

no idea

EDIT: I mean, some ammo types are found everywhere, like 9mm for example. It just isn't known what you may encounter. Very little Intel is supplied in that regard.

guys i suggest that we try to coordinate our ammo supply as best as we can. So all pistols and sub-machine guns should use the same ammo. If people are using assault rifles we should all use the same kind of ammo. While i would rather not i could trade my shotgun out for an assault rifle so that we could consolidate that way as well. Just thinking of making a compatible group dynamic for that. Perhaps it is recommended by our employer that we each bring weapons that use certain types of ammo for this reason.

edit:
Jace would we know what is standard issue for our enemies guards? Not the IE team but the stormtroopers that are like the red shirts from the original star trek.

This is a really good suggestion. Obviously, a personal favorite gun of choice may have odd ammo...

Agreed :)

I think 7.62mm should work for machineguns, and assault rifles as well (assuming everyone's okay with using AKs and whatnot instead of M16/M4), and either 9mm or .45 caliber for handguns...

Well i can adapt my guy some, but he is pretty focused on the medical issue so there isn't much else he does. I have track and maxed out survival since i probably will have the highest wisdom out of the group as well. I also have maxed out spot and listen for the same reason, with my free points going into hide and move silently. my secondary role is as a scout. I know my combat abilities are probably just good enough to defend myself and hold my own in a fight, that is why i am with a team so i don't have to do it all.

So in short i can follow our enemy, notice when they are around, and patch you guys up when the shit hits the fan.

It looks like our guys are going to be very similar but I think the focuses will make us different. You seem to be having scouting as a secondary role while it's my primary. It's looking like I'm going to be fighting with a couple knives, a bolas and a compound bow.

So my guy in essence is this:

P.S. Jace, what are the chances of my guy being able to recover used arrows?

I don't know about D20 Modern, but in regular D&D you have a 50% chance of being able to re-use an arrow that missed. An arrow that hits its target is basically destroyed/rendered useless.

Anywho, it's up to Jace :)

I'm leaning towards definitely going with my AS Val, which unfortunately uses different kinds of armor piercing rounds; apparently the Russians made guns designed around defeating the "universal ammo" ideal. But the RPK fires 7.62 mm rounds from boxes, which.... well, looks like there are chinese, czech, japanese... a bunch of high powered machine guns that use the same ammunition.

And thank you Jolt, was wondering about the difference in power.  :D I'll probably definitely go for a Russian gun instead, either toe DOG-1 or the Gurza.

So I suppose the revolving chamber 6-shot grenade launcher is a no, huh?  :p

Well maybe later. Meanwhile, Streetwise Check: 14. Being a russian gangster has to count for something, no?

7.62 works for me :)

So, 9mm or .45 for our handguns? :D
Or do we all go running around with nickelplated Desert Eagles :P
