I know, that's why I'm somewhat glad you have the craft skills covered :P

Speaking of weight though, how will we move all our gear over the island? Just drag everything we have with us, including said heavy tool kits? Maybe see if we can find a secure location to store some of the heavier stuff?

I'm not carrying around deluxe tool kits, I'll have a multitool if I really really need to craft something out in the field.  That'll help.

;) nice screeny of the Kahana Jace.

As for transport off the ship to the island, I would think  1 or 2 zodiacs with quiet outboards should get us there quickly and quietly. I would say if we are approaching at night the ship can get us within a few miles of the island and we can go from there while they back off quite a distance to avoid being seen in the daylight hours.

As for lugging stuff about while on the island. My character isn't at capacity yet for light load so if someone needs something to be carried I am sure she has a spot for it to help moves us around faster.

RIBs are fine with me to get to shore. As far as weight i'm pretty close to the top end of having a light load, i would be way over if it weren't for my gear. If we could have a secure base of operations i would like that but i don't see me leaving any of my stuff there, i got what i think i need period. there are few thing i feel like i could leave without it being a problem.

For you guys having issues carrying your stuff look at a Backpack and Meshvest. they improve your effective strength for carrying capacity.

Both provide the same type of bonus though, so they don't stack ;)

 :facepalm
thought they were untyped. so now i am over my limit for a light load and need to drop items.

now fixed with 4 lbs to spare. Dropped some of the heavier items that weren't vital and cut back on items i had multiple of.

Torture is a skill. Rules found here at Modernized pages 28-30. Save your Skill Points. I will be using the rules out of the Book of Vile Darkness.

I like this rule-set better than having a separate skill for it. Makes it seem more detailed and fun.

Yeah, so that's about 13-14 more hours for me, I won't stay up for 5+ more hours :P

EDIT: Before I forget, there's one more decision in terms of mechanics I need to make.

Which ability array should I pick?

1)
Str 10
Dex 18
Con 12
Int 12
Wis 13
Cha 10

or

2)
Str 10
Dex 17
Con 14
Int 14
Wis 14
Cha 10

In other words, is 1 point of attack bonus, AC and Reflex worth giving up 4HP, +1 Fort and Will, 7 Skill points and a +1 bonus in certain skills?

Jace, you've got a PM in your inbox with all of my "secret stuff" so I'm done except for equipment (which I've got a list for so I just need to go home and write down things on my character sheet and do math).

i'll tell you the same thing Jace probably would, based off of his previous answer to a similar question. What would your character choose? Would he feel a little in att., AC, and Ref is worth some toughness, fort & will, and skill points?

Do the arrays presented include the stat point at lvl 4? that could help influence your decision. And keep in mind all the things you listed can be changed later except for the gaining of skill points, everything else is retroactive.

Those 2 options include the level 4 increase in 1 stat.

As for my character himself,
I think there's an argument to be made for both options...

What would you guys do, based on a pure out-of-character decision?

personally the skill point win. just because i don't think the +1s from the first set would make that much difference in survival and they can be caught up later while the skill points are always gone. that is 1 per level from here on out also so your looking at the difference in 23 points over your carrier, all other things being equal.

Ok, since I can't get the Reduced Weight gadget on my tool kits I have one of two ways to go.  A) Switch my strength and Wisdom scores so that I can actually carry all of my gear, this can be justified since I've presumably been carrying my gear around for years.  B) Don't have my tool kits and make due with a multi-purpose tool which gives me a -2 on my repair checks and loses out on the extra +1 from my class feature.  Thoughts?

Or just accept the fact you've got a medium or heavy load?

That's what I'll probably be doing anyway...

First post :D

EDIT: Decided on callsign 'Ronin' :)

Also, anyone else have any thoughts about my stat allocation? Currently I'm leaning towards the second setup...
