No, I would not be interested in swapping class skills. Mr. j0lt is in charge of character construction for this game, and I back up what he has said...

Besides, creating a character RAW makes it so much more challenging-- the resulting build is so much more satisfying than any house ruled cheat PC.
If you want to gain a certain skill you will have to take the appropriate class at next level up, or include the class in your starting build.

Figured asking couldn't hurt.

I'm not seeing any way to add Craft (Chemical) to my list without dipping Smart, at the moment, and that really does not fit my character, so I'll just go with cross-class ranks and hope I don't blow us up when I need to improvise an explosive :P

Just gotta select gear and PM Jace with my concept (should have a basic comprehensive description ready either tonight or tomorrow) and get it and the sheet approved :)

Ow, before I forget, would the feat Precise Strike be allowed? (IIRC it's in Unearthed Arcana, I'd have to check to make sure though). It sounds like a decent feat for my level 9 feat slot (assuming we get there within something like 2 years time :P)

Feats are done, will work on the rest slowly and get it up to snuff.

I thought about taking Craft(Chemical), but it looks like that won't be necessary. :P

Please do, if you have it as a class skill :P

I only do for my smart hero levels, Engineer doesn't have it.  So, want me to have six ranks in it and never any more?   :P

At least you can get cross-class ranks and still get maximum ranks (even though it'll cost you twice as many skill points for your Engineer levels) :P

Sorry, I just don't think that I'll be building explosives.

Now I have to figure out what I was thinking when I took ranks in demolition.....

Edit: Apparently because there's no room to add more Craft or Knowledge skills without removing other skills from the list and nothing else was useful.

they have blank slots under the rest of them you can fill in with other skills.
Clerics and Druids are like the 4 and 2 in 42. Together they are the answer to the ultimate question in D&D.

Except there aren't any blank spots if you look at my character sheet.  :P

And I didn't even add anything, there were never any.

Removed a perform from the list and traded Demolitions ranks for Knowledge: Civics.

Now to get the rest of my character fleshed out.

So, is everyone waiting on me?  :p

I haven't seen your sheet yet, just figured that you had the same as the rest of us.
I don't think we are waiting on you as we only have 3 or 4 sheets that are posted in the Sheets thread. So there are others who are still working too.

That's really odd.  I've never seen a D20 Modern sheet on myth-weavers with blank spots for extra skills.

Edit: And after checking yours doesn't have any blank spaces either, so now I'm confused.   ???

I see what it was. I just glanced at the example one when i went to confirm that it had the extra slots, problem is the example one was a Wheel of Time sheet. They have extras we don't my bad.

Yeah I ran out of space too, needed a spot for speak language.

As for the sheets 4 or 5 of us have been really active the past couple days getting the sheets pushed out. I dont think I have seen the others post anything to this section yet.

Jace are you going to set a tentative start date and time so the others have a rough time frame to get their stuff posted? I don't mean to sound impatient, just excited to get started is all  :)

Nope. Feats from the main Modern books are fine though, with the exception of some from d20 Future, which are kinda overpowered.

Recruited out of jail by some sort of clandestine organization (still working on some details) and trained as an operative (for taking out specific targets, so assassination and demolotion, using guns and explosives :)).

Mechanically I'm looking at dual-wielding handguns, and throwing knives in case I run out of ammo. Dabbling in Craft (chemical), Demolitions and Torture in terms of skills.

That's really close to my character:

Alex Cross, former CIA wetwork operative (assassination and sabotage).  Expert in CQB, explosives, and infiltration.

I like the jail angle, but the assassin/demolitions stuff is really close.  Also, dual wielding weapons with mid/low BAB is gonna result in a lot of missed shots.

We've got a spy, a wetwork operative, a medic, a heavy weapons guy, I think we'll have a scout type (Traceur AdC), and I'm not sure what everybody else is playing...  Your earlier concept mentioned firearms expert.  Why not go with a rifleman or SMG user?  Lay down some burst fire.  Alternately, a sniper would probably help the group out pretty well.

Hey!

Sorry I haven't posted yet but I've been busy at work and was tied up this past weekend with a training workshop.

So to help you guys out, as well as myself, my character is going to focus on guerrilla warfare primarily (so sneaking, tracking, utilizing unorthodox weapons & methods). He's Serbian and probably going to go Male Military Dedicated Hero 3/Infiltrator 1. His approach to combat is to close the distance between a foe and knife or disable them. He also has a very Kantian point of view, a harsh and cold man in all respects.

Does that help at all with rounding out the team?
