Alright, then we can put it to a vote. As leader, I'll abstain for now and act as a tiebreaker. Sam is against, I assume Cecil is for?

Nathan voted agaisnt, not Sam

See additional info in OOC thread.

I mentioned in a spoiler on the last post of the last page that I wanted to make a couple of Survival checks (take 10 for a total of 16) to determine time of day, if this is a good camp spot, how far we have to go, what the weather is going to be like for 24 hours, etc. That will affect Cecil's answer.
A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.
...thanks

This is not really a good camp spot, no spring, bushy.  It's a couple hours after noon, you have a 2 day's walk before you can make it to the road, approximately.  It's going to be rainy soon, it's always rainy in tenacia...

"Alright, fine. We'll keep moving. It's too early to camp really, and this isn't that great of a spot, anyway. It looks like rain, though. That will be just lovely, trudging through this mess in the rain. *Sigh* "

You keep on walking through the forest, being as miserable as you can be, your breath laboring through your lungs unused to this harsh exercice, your sweat coming out of your body due to the intense heat, drenching your clothes, and forcing you to constantly concentrate on cantrip magics to dry yourself off and clean yourself, but you still smell like a horse that mated with a pile of manure, clearly this can't get any worse.

And then it starts raining.

Not just a drizzle, but a full blown tropical rain, pouring everywhere, drenching you to a point you have never been drenched before.  Night is coming, it's as good a time as any to set up camp, you quickly unfold the camp and sight in relief as you get in the warm semi-extradimensional space, with dry beds and comfortable benches.  You quickly change clothes and dry off your old ones off, before using cantrips to summon water and washing yourselves.  Maybe learning a few spells to protect yourself from the rain tommorow might be a good idea?

I'll give you a couple of opportunities to decide what spells you should learn tommorow and plan your next actions, then proceed to the following day.  For those who wonder, I was a city kid who did woodland expeditions when I was young, I fully well know the agony of those things ^^.

NEW SPELL
Protection from rain
School: Abjuration
Level: 0
Classes: all (yeah, even that one)
Duration: 1 hour level
Range: Touch
Target: 1 target.

This spell prevents your from being drenched by trickling water, you will still get drenched by immersion in water, or any volume of water falling on you that is more than 1 gallon per round.  It is mostly a cosmetic spell. You still get the penalties for fighting in the rain (penalty to ranged attacks and concentration) you're just not wet.
Oh, and Sam is going to craft an umbrella. Can we assume taking 10 or 20?

Yes we can, it'll be a pretty shoddy one though, but it will work

That's true, but we'll never get to ambush them if we don't get moving. Zion steps outside the tent and waits, seeming to ignore the rain as it pours down around him.

The night comes and you take up your guard turns, some of the forest's predators come sniffing close to the tent, but somehow seem to find the camp repulsive and turn around.  Probly a new feature in the standard field tent by the imbuing guild...  Because everyone knows the one thing that gets magic users cranky is being interrupted in their sleep!

The following morning comes and the rain is still pouring down from the sky, as if some godly being decided that it was appropriate to piss down on you.  Of course that's just silly, gods don't exist, they're just powerful beings hopped up on some overpowered magical juice.  You quickly pack the tent and get to your feet, and then the pain starts....

Except for Kernon, all of you are almost paralysed by the agonising pain lancing from your legs, as if your muscles were just a hard knot that you couldn't undo.  It takes a lot of rubbing and massaging, not to mention a bit of magic (cure minor wounds)  to get the legs in working order again.  Finally you get underway, grumbling about why the high ups couldn't have teleported you nearer to the road.

You finally make it to the road, or what is used as a road for these barbaric individuals in the west of civilized Keysackra....   A stream is before you, about 20-30 feet wide.  You know that the united human kingdoms use these as roads, as you don't have to maintain them, they are fast, and less creatures can attack you if they pierce the Wayfarer Veil.  Clearly they need to learn a thing or two about flight or teleportation.... but then... they wouldn't be so blatantly retarded if they did... oh well!!

You're here, what do you want to do now?

Knowledge Arcana/Psionic DC 25:
The veil is a part illusiory, part repulsion effect that works better on strong, weak willed creatures, much like the ones you find in the jungles.  It is a psionic effect that tells everyone ''there is nothing to see here'' and then proceeds to hide the group with a glammer.

Basically, a successfull will save allows you to pierce it.

While the wayfarer guide are neutral in all conflicts, they originally were founded in Athenecia, land of the elves.  The human kingdoms don't know that the effect is magical in nature.
OOC: Wait... does the road cross the stream? Or just run alongside it? I was imagining we had to cross the stream somehow, without a bridge...

Road=Stream.  There are no roads, they are costly and constantly ambushed by monsters.  The people in the human kingdoms use rivers and streams as roads, on their fast riverboat.

"Ah great... and no one thought to bring a boat. Or mention that we'd need one...

Well... I guess we can just set up on the sides of this, and try to ambush them as they go by. I bet they've never seen that one before...
"

He chuckles at his own joke, and then begins looking for a decent place to set up an ambush. A place where the river narrows and where cover is available, and maybe with banks so we can have the high ground, would be good.

Then another thought occurs to him...

"Hey... I wonder how by the book these guys are... Maybe we could lure them out of hiding with a decent enough enticement!

What do you think would do it? Treasure? A comely lass in need of rescuing?

Or hell... we could just make it look like a big freakin' tree has fallen across the river, blocking it. They'll have to try something to get rid of it. Then we'll know they're there, and can blast them to smithereens. Or... well... some of you guys can. I'm not so good at that blasting thing yet...
"

"And does anyone know how that Wayfarer's Veil works? What's it going to take to see them, anyway? I have a spell that can help figure it out, unless one of you already has some ideas..."
Yes, I read the spoilers. :P If you don't want me to in the future, you should say so now. If no one makes the check and tells the rest of us about it, or convinces Cecil that they know WTF they're talking about, he'll cast Guidance of the Avatar on himself, and make it himself.
Cecil gets impatient and says "Ah, screw it" and then casts a spell. He then says (as if reciting):

"The veil is a part illusiory, part repulsion effect that works better on strong, weak willed creatures, much like the ones you find in the jungles.  It is a psionic effect that tells everyone ''there is nothing to see here'' and then proceeds to hide the group with a glammer.

Strong willed individuals may see through it, however.

While the wayfarer guide are neutral in all conflicts, they originally were founded in Athenecia, land of the elves.  The human kingdoms don't know that the effect is magical in nature.
"

He then resumes looking for a spot where large trees grow alongside the river, and that would be useful for an ambush.

there is a narrowing, where the stream is just 25 feet wide, with an overhang on your side of the river, just about 150 feet downstream.
